Bottega Veneta S/S 2026 Milan

She also gets a lot of support on IG
IG commenters definitely have a lower IQ than the average... I also think most of them have zero fashion knowledge. They even love the new Balenciaga by PPP.

I’m sad because the only one who received hate through insta was poor Virginie. Who was just doing ugly garments but she was quite innogensive and zero pretentious.

This girl though… Phoebe Philo gone very wrong.

MB followed the Phoebe route but at least it was better… this though…

I'm still rooting as she is the only female designer debuting this season! I guess next season I will need to root from MGC at Fendi :)

Ohh this Cynthia look makes me realize something or at least question it…

Do celebrity stylists photographs their clients before they are appearing on the Redcarpet?

In the studios, when there are styling sessions, the designer and the team are styling the looks, the girls walk and when the whole thing is working (a girl and the outfit), a photo is taken.

Why do I have the impression that the same is not done for celebrities?

Good thing for putting her in sexy Louboutin but clearly, it’s hard to be convinced by it.
She is swallowed by the whole thing.

Speaking of the above look, I really do not like this “playing with texture” thing that’s swept across fashion. Feels like a way to just arbitrarily look ‘interesting?’ Especially with the bright coloring. I’m not even opposed to feathers or fluff but this specific strain just feels so aggressively useless and like such a loophole for creating genuinely convincing and desirable garments. Some look better than others, but still.

@psychopsist, it's a symptom of the narrative that luxury brands have been trying to built in the last decade of being focused on the "craft" rather than the design, mainly because it's easier for the suits to deal with skilled labour (repetitive and consistent) than aesthetical vision (amorphous and unpredictable). That's why lot of luxury brands have been delivering a bunch of shapeless clothes with heavy surface detail on top. Chiuri's heavily embroidered shift dresses, Viard's shapeless tweeds, Blazy's "I-can't-believe-it's-leather" everything, Michele's obsession with lace.

Mhmm, absolutely. I really mislike the ‘craft’ buzzword for this reason. The conflation of fashion/clothesmaking with this like very general kids art project idea of ‘creation of things’ feels like confusing music and sound effects.

Swiffer Dust.

The proportions are all off. The seam line of the bodice hem should have been higher to balance out the satin more, and the hips need more structuring because it’s so sunken looking even though she fills out more. Direct from the runway I’m sure (or at least little adaptations done from said sample) because it’s fit is seemingly is too reliant on the proportions of the runway model, which makes the undoneness seem more intentional.

With all of that in mind too, what makes this Bottega? It’s very nameless looking.

She's a very bad designer... But I am rooting for her because she has a nose and I have a nose.

She has a terrible sense of proportions and finishes... but I am rooting for her because she's European.

You know, I root for whatever looks like me. It doesn't matter how bad it is, but my ego needs to be represented somehow.

She has zero POV...

It's a shame because MB Bottega was really good in store. Probably the best product offer at the moment. After her I feel it will be another Proenza Schouler imitating PP. The worst you can be in fashion design is Proenza Schouler. Pier Paolo and MGC are on a league of their own...
