I think she is just trying way too hard to look like a "bad girl" to fit the rock star persona. But I don't believe she truly is a badass. It doesn't help that she kind of has a babyface too (not really angular) - but that's to be expected because she's just 16.

She gets away with so much because she's expected to be on the edge with Gossip Girl...I mean if Miley Cyrus pulled that stunt with the lingerie on stage, she would be front page news. Taylor has really changed a lot in two years though, she was so sweet the first season of Gossip Girl.
