Teach me your language I teach you mine

une brique dans la ventre.. it's not a French phrase/figure of speech, is it ??

yes, it means to own a house.
That's a weird saying, "to have a brick in ones stomach"

yeah.. in english there's "butterflies in the stomach". i thought they were similar ^_^

maybe Belgians are stereotypically fond of their homes (taking care of the garden, lots of maintenance, etc.) so it's like the bricks are their food :bunny:

'A brick in their stomach'

It actually means that Belgians like to have their own houses built rather than rent one that's already there [built by someone else] ;)

what is the difference between presuming and assuming?

Niles (from The Nanny) says "Mrs. Babcock, I presume." According to my dictionnary "assume" would be the right word

I am just wondering how to say "editorial" in German? Is it really a "Leitartikel"? Thanks! :flower:

Quelle est la partie la plus difficile de la grammaire francaise?

"Which is the most complicated part of the french grammar"

I'd say
What is the most complicated part in french grammar ?
or
Which part is the more complicated in french grammar ?

^ oh yes thanks for correction :flower:
(I always mistake most and more :stuart:even if I perfectly get the difference )

^_^ ;),

in fact, i'd put it this way :

which part, in the french grammar, is the most complicated?
it sounds better imo.:flower:
