Ok, i'm from Greece...

Hello = geia
Love = agapi
fashion = motha
cool = cool, but we say others words as well (slang) like teleeo (actually it means perfect) but we use it as cool.

and btw, you found a great way to translate the word "saudade", that really fits into the song...
cause for all of you who don't know, "Saudade" is a word that only exists in Portuguese. ^_^ Basically it's the feeling of missing something or someone. :heart:

I've always enjoyed translating (I suppose that is has something to do with having been a bit "brainwashed" by all those latin and ancient greek translations they made me do at the high school...:lol:)

did you know querida has a second meaning in spanish? :innocent:
it means lover, like if a man has a wife but he's having an affair with another woman, that woman's called his querida B) there are many more words of naming that woman, querida is one of the not-rude ones.. :D

.. and you don't want to know how many meanings most of the words here have.. :innocent: i've noticed lots of meanings and words commonly used by young people are said in tv, on famous shows, and then everybody starts using that expression/word. shows how much influence tv has on people now :ermm:

TV's gotten all of Spain into saying 'mayormente'. The word exists but it means something different as to what everybody thinks it means.. if that makes sense :wacko:

:D On the telly I only watch:

1) Ice-hockey :p
2) the few good movies that they show, or those good ones I taped through the years (and imvho, generally "good" means "old"...:innocent:I mean, not always, but most of the times...once there was less attention to visual effects, and much more to the script, whereas nowadays we're invaded by movies with great special effects but at the same time with idiotic scripts...imho! :blush:)
3) f-TV :p

...and therefore I'm not really exposed to the evil influence of tv...:lol:

But I know that people uses words and/or expressions taken from tv, and generally, from the lousiest shows: i.e., I noticed people recently started to ask, when needing to make sure about somebody's opinion on something, "Sicuro? L'accendiamo?" which means "Are you sure? Shall we enlighten it?" and then I discovered that it's from a quiz called "Who wants to be a millionaire", where the contestants are asked if they're sure of their answers, and if they want the computer to enlighten the answer meaning that it's their definitve one...) AAAArrrghhhhh......:yuk:

Actually, I only watch TV on Wednesdays, cause that's when my favourite series is, but it's the worst one for this kind of things so .. I use all of them :innocent: :ninja:

And OMG I used to watch that quiz show!! :woot: We got it here too :D
