To everyone who asked about wordpress vs. blogspot

Wordpress is a much more powerful tool, and looks much more proffesional than blogspot can every do (no matter how much time and energy you put into the layout, you will always have the blogspot-border at the top. You can also buy your own host and domain. The downside is that it doesn't really support ads out-of-the-box, so that can become a bit tricky, but again, unless you are doing very well for yourself ads can be shooting yourself in the foot too.

(I hope nobody has anything against this, I wrote in this thread a while ago, but I changed it almost completely since then, so my old new blog is: smile! it's the apocalypse - :ninja:)
 
^You don't have to delete your old blog when creating a new one though. So you can have your old blogspot-blog online with the first post saying you've moved and forwarding people to your new one.
 
^^ i know, but sometimes readers are accumulated just from surfers seeing something they like. they may not take the few seconds to go to the new page. is there a way to make my current link automatically go to a new wordpress blog?
 
Fashion file I recently had to change servers as Uber was said to be closing down. I too was scared of losing readership but I posted on my old blog saying that I would be moving, sent an email to my blogroll and they all updated their links, I remembered to update the links in my profiles ect. And now just after about a week I'm once again receiving the same type of readership I was before.

So it can be done if you work at it and remember to update links. :)

recently i started a fashion blog. I post about my life in fashion school, my designs, sewing, illustrating, trends, and my not so crazy, not so common life. the link is in my signature. Any feedback is highly appreciated! as its the primarily reason i made a blog to show my work and receive opinions from all points of view.
 
Daniellat, I really like your blog! Your designs are fantastic. I'd love to see more detailed descriptions of the steps when you post things you've made, though. I really like seeing the process people go through and generally DIY is really popular on blogs!
 
Mine is in my signature. I started it about a month ago and I'm finally getting into a good rhythm and I'm really happy with it! It's a mix of outfit posts and random inspiration, but I think it's centered more around outfits than anything else.
