Sorry if this is a bit off-topic, but i was wondering what do you guys use to create the CD inserts? I've tried a few apps specific for that purpose, and haven't found one that i like. So i'm thinking you guys must be using an image editor (i use Photoimpact, by Ulead. Photoshop is too expensive!).

bleufunk, i use good old scissors, gluestick and magazines try that!

and it's not off-topic, i don't think - the mix tape/cd artwork is so much a part of the process!

How long should the mixes be? I have about a million and one tracks I want to use, but I know an actual fashion show wouldn't be an hour and a half long

oh believe me, i feel the same - my magazine collection spans decades, genres, and weighs almost more than me. that doesn't mean you can't buy 2 copies of the same magazine and save one i'm very selective of the magazines i cut up also...just use your imagination

lola, we've never put a limit on our mixes - it's up to you, how many songs a cd can hold/if you want to make more than 1 cd, etc. do whatever you feel is right - only you know when your fashionshow is over

let's not talk about that ok, maybe i don't have that many magazines. but i do have a lot. actually, i know i've gotten rid of some (in a mad fit of cleaning while in the process of moving) that i greatly regret now, but let's face it - i'm a collector, and i make art. and i'm a packrat
