Thandie Newton Confirmed As Bond Girl
British actress Thandie Newton has been confirmed as the new Bond girl.
Thandie Newton, star of action flicks "Crash" and "Mission: Impossible" where she starred opposite Tom Cruise, will have to seduce Daniel Craig in the forthcoming Casino Royale.
Filming on the movie starts in the Caribbean next week.
Thandie Newton was born November 6, 1972, in Zambia, Africa. Her father is Nick Newton, a British artist. Her first role was of Ugandan teen who falls in love with the white teacher in "Flirting." Thandie Newton was cast in the 1994 bloodfest, Interview With The Vampire, starring Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst. This role eventually paved her way to another Tom Cruise movie, John Woo's "Mission: Impossible 2".
Thandie Newton is happily married and has a 6-year old daughter.
When James Bond creators told that they want to make the new Bond movie new and different, we sighed with relief. But casting two black actresses as Bond girls - two movies in a row? Cute and smart as she is, Thandie Newton might have a hard time fitting Halle Berry’s shoes. Or bikini.
Topped with Daniel Craig's odd looks, this would be the strangest Bond movie ever.
