here's the new thread we've been discussing in the main thread (http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f58/4-5-piece-french-wardrobe-3-a-160337.html) ...

so here's what i'm thinking ... let's do two $500 challenges:

1) From your existing wardrobe
2) From your realtime spending, starting either from sometime in February 2013, or from right now

rules:
  • if you're in, go ahead & post that you want to participate
  • state what each item cost
  • post pix of all key items (your own or credited from a shopping site, etc.). it would also be good to explain how the item functions or is meant to function in your wardrobe, etc.
  • if you don't shop using us dollars, propose an equivalent amount in your currency with a reference to an exchange rate or a spending power study
  • if the last (or first) item takes you over the limit, that's ok
  • when everyone is done, we'll vote in each category for who got the best value for their money. for me, this would be the biggest bang for the buck, or maybe something really beautiful & rare, like a black skirt that functions as basic, but is so gorgeous it gets compliments everytime you wear it ... for you, it may be something different.
hopefully we'll have many different approaches & budgets & personal styles to look at here!!

let the games begin ...

i'm in too :)

this is my historical entry. i bought these dolce & gabbana mary janes in january 2007 for $595 & have long thought it was some of the best money i ever spent. they've had numerous replacement heel caps & whatever the toe part of the sole is called , they get tons of compliments, & always make the outfit. plus, they're lots of fun to wear. the block heel is back, but for me it never left ...

i've been called dorothy while wearing these, but do i care?

Spent my first money.

Got this leather jacket (in case you had not noticed ;)). It was marked down from 455 dollars to 140 bucks. I consider it a real bargain.

I'm starting off with three purchases from Zara.

These two tees (each 14.95€):

And this striped sweater, a cotton and silk mix  For 39.95€:

The tees I plan on wearing in the spring and summer with a pair of statement pants and some jewelry, and the sweater I've already worn like 4 times and I've had it for a little more than a week. It feels soooo amazing and looks good with everything, it also holds up well in the wash. I love it!

as promised, posting my lingerie purchase ... this is all i'm keeping, the original reason i placed the order ... a unique bra in my size. i'm not a huge fan of lace ...

the others were basic colors, & while pretty, they are foundation garments :p & i get a smoother look with my current brand, so i think i'm going to just replace what i have when i get a chance.

this was $45.

I'm in of course, but will post the whole outfit when I get 1 or 2 more items for SS. :) The shoes will have to wait, since I didn't find a pair which I love as much as Jil Sander Lima heels. Oh, well ... >.<

I absolutely love all the purchases I have made those last 2 weeks. I have never shop as much in my whole life, never cared so much about finding THE perfect item but I am really really glad I joined you. I am learning a lot and I am loving the process
