The Arcade Fire

I just got back from seeing them and I was sooo amazed. It was honestly one of the best shows I've ever been to and I've been to LOTS of shows. Wow..just wow!!!

They've been playing a cover of 'Still Ill' during their UK tour, and they do it pretty, pretty amazingly:

There is also a pretty good recording of it to be found on dancing jesus forum.

This makes me hate even more that I won't be attending their Amsterdam gig soon.

I cannot believe last post here was posted in 2007.
3 freaking years ago :shock::shock:
WoW, I am speechless.

Anyway, is there anymore fans of them around here??

I personally LOVE them and saw them live yesterday, they were AMAZING. Seriously, I fell in love with them even more.

Win Butler was so funny.

and they have new music coming wich I am suuuuuuper excited.

I just listened to Rococo, a song from their new album, amazing! I wasn't too excited when I heard The Suburbs, but this one brought my faith back.

yeah, i was dissapointed to the suburbs too but rococo is awsome. i love it!

i love Funeral to death:heart: they are so good.

I can honestly say that Funeral is my favourite album. I can listen it over and over and over again and just feel good.
I love that album.

As much as I loved their older stuff, I thought I might be tired of their sound. But I am pleasantly surprised by their new stuff and really excited for the album. I agree with both of you I wasn't really impressed by The Suburbs single, but I love Ready to Start and Rococo.

Funeral is one of my favourite albums ever, so I was waiting for the new one with great anticipation. I can say that on first listen I am not at all disappointed in The Suburbs. I don't know how they do it but for me Arcade Fire just keep on delivering great music.

I've never seen them live but I've heard so many good things, I would love to.

After a few listens I'm still loving The Suburbs. For me it seems a more consistent album than Neon Bible but doesn't quite hit the heights of Funeral. I'm not sure how they could ever top that.

Yes, I bet they have hard times doing better album than Funeral. I love Funeral to death and I still keep listening it everyday. I have high hopes for their new album. I really like Rococo.

Oh they are WONDERFUL!!!!
You would totally enjoy seeing them live.
Win Butler is pretty charming and made funny jokes
and Richard & William were hilarious, they were running around all the time.
And I really loved that everyone of them played [almost] every instrument.
YOU MUST SEE THEM!!!!

I feel like crazy fan girl at the moment

I'm listening to their new album right now. I'm finding it to be quite different in tone to their earlier works but I'm still really liking it! I don't think it will ever be able to replace Funeral as my favourite but I can see The Suburbs fitting different moods and situations than Funeral so I'm pretty gosh darn happy right now. So glad to be hearing some new stuff from them!

And I agree, they're spectacular live!

I've just listened to their new album and I think it's good overall even though their sound is somewhat more mainstream now.
The track that surprised me the most is Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) : it reminds me so much of Blondie! I wasn't expecting that from Arcade Fire, but it works and it's good!

Last night BBC3 broadcast the entire headline set of Arcade Fire at the Reading Festival.

For those in the UK (or those who know how to get around it) it's available for the next week on BBC's iPlayer. Well worth checking out.

I bought tickets for their December show in Manchester. :D Can't wait!

I just got around to listening to their new cd. Really brilliant! :D

Modern Man & Half Light I are stand outs! :magic:

I am obsessed with Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains). I never liked them before but I think I'll give them a chance now.

Obsessed with the entire album -- Spike Jonze's new video for the title track is, of course, AMAZING, brilliant and beautiful. I hadn't appreciated this song that much, until I saw the video.

apparently, that vid is a part of Jonze's movie that should be out sometime soon!
