The curse of male pattern baldness!

I believe only certain patterns of baldness are fixable through the use of surgery, such as tonsure and a receded hairline. It just depends on the amount of hair you've retained.

BTW, the prescriptive medication my brother uses is 'propecia.'

someone told me that if you lose it when you're young it'll be a quick process as opposed to starting to go bald when you're older, you'll start to recede much slower than you would if you was young. i don't know if that's generally true, sounds strange i think.

sidenote - i always thought vin diesel was thin on top, but i've come to notice he actually has a full head of hair, he just prefers to shave it.

this propecia stuff looks awesome haha, i googled it and reports say it has a 80-90% success rate on men.

kol_lover: If I were you I would try that medicine as soon as possible. I read that you have a greater chance in getting alot of the hair back if u start using it when the hairloss just starts. And you wont have to worry about what ppl think about "bald men":flower:

i'm happy how my hair is at the moment, in a way i don't think i want a perfect hairline, i kinda like that's it's receded a little, i've never liked perfect straight hairlines. but yeah, i'm gonna look into getting propecia just to maintain my current hair status.

so it follows the mother's side, skipping a generation right..

so for me, i would have to look at my mom's dad (my maternal grandfather)?

^ My father, his brother, and my paternal grandfather all had identical receding hairlines.

No, in order to get a good perspective you should look at your father and maternal grandfather's hair, the two closest men in your lineage, in order to fare out your chances of going bald or not.

Anyway this is my understanding by what I was told by my father and brother who are both obsessed about not losing any more hair as they both have a receded hairline.

^ Hey, go ahead & look at your maternal grandfather if you like ;) No sense in worrying about the future, enjoy that head of hair today :D

IMO when a guy suffers from pattern baldness keeping the hair short (trimming it with a beard trimmer at the lowest trimming-lenght) sort of like Wesley Sneijder is rather sexy.. better than hidding it if the baldness is getting more pronounced.
ooh hanne i SO agree :crush:
and also with a trimmed five o'clock shadow.

it looks sharp and clean
