The Eyebrow Thread, all you need to know and ask about your arches

as a fan of natural eyebrowz, may i ask why you draw them? i think its such a p ty that girls draw them, it ruins all their prettiness and i wonder why they do it?.. why dont you like them natural?

i've gotten my eyebrows waxed at many places in nyc, some who were supposedly the best in town. :yuk: when i found out that there were gonna be anastasia salons in the time square and 5th ave sephoras, i booked an appointment immediately. when i walked in, i saw that there was a cute pink salon tucked at the very back of the store. the women were so nice and talked to me about every single one of my eyebrow concerns and wants. everything went perfectly until...she pulled out a stencil. i honestly felt gypped because following a stencil didn't require skill. when she was done though, i got the best brows in my life! i highly recommend going to anastasia salon in ny to do brows...even if they do do it with stencils. and besides, $35 for brows in ny is a steal.

Well, mine are so sparse that if I don't draw them in, I look like I have no eyebrows! So I have to fil them in.

I like drawn on eyebrows because you can control them. You can draw them flatter for a more doll-like appearance.. you could draw them more arched, longer, shorter, thinner, thicker.. it's like complete control of an element of your look that most people tend to overlook. I don't agree that drawn on eyebrows look good on everyone, but I like their effect if they're done right. I think they're very dramatic, in a good way.

Does anyone know a good, not too expensive place to get your brows done in London?? Especially for Asians.

Also, never wax your eyebrows, in a long term, it makes the skin saggy.

:GASP:  I didn't know that...oh my god, thanks for telling me!

Thank goodness I've been too lazy to go back to the salon:innocent:

Do your eyebrows have to naturally grow like this or can you actually pluck your eyebrows into this shape?

:flower: thanks for answering!

^^^ who is that ? really cute - and perfect eyebrows

My eyebrows!

I don't touch them except for maintenance. Do you think I should look into using an eyebrow pencil? Hrm.

(Excuse the bra--uh, I have no idea what I was doing.)

Why would you want to?

If they grew in that way, I would hope you would do something to correct them.

Actually the ideal brows to me are the really thick, distinctive brows like Brooke Shields had when she was really young.

Sorry, but I'm not into the caterpillar/Groucho Marx look either. It just isn't ladylike. I always thought Brooke needed to thin hers.

hey everyone this has probably been asked before but i can't find it... I have failry big features like big lips and nose but small eyes:rolleyes:..my eyebrows ar thin and like badly shaped...i have the worst hang up with tweezing them all the time and they are really thin at like the arch and on. I think that FULL eyebrows would look really good on me but how do i go from no eyebrows to big ones? does the anastasia stencil kit for eyebrows work? or would it make me really look like I "painted on my brows"? Please help!! I want them to look good for new years and stuff:blush: any suggestions would be appreicated

i love the olsen twins eyebrows! they used to be thin but now they are fuller and gorgeous! im growing out my eyebrows now coz i overplucked it argh!

how many here 'thread' their eyebrows. its a commonly used technique used here in India for plucking out hairs. The only tool used is a piece of ordinary thread that we use for stitching....The results are usually very good, but its painful, I prefer to tweeze. i have been threaded, but never waxed there. Hows waxing as compared to tweezing (pain-wise)?

My stylist waxes and then tweezes mine ... I always ask her for Natalie Portman eyebrows

For anybody who doesn't yet know..
Tweezerman's Point Slant Tweezers are heaven. I get a thrill everytime I pluck my eyebrows now.
Is that normal? :ermm:

My eyebrows seem to grow by the minute, they drive me crazy.

I´ve got a very nice shape, but it´s hell to keep up.

I´m planning a long vacation for January February and I´ve been thinking about quitting my tweezering, and letting them grow so I can change to a lower maintenance style. What do you think? Can this work? Any advice?

Have you tried waxing? It last much longer than tweezing alone :flower:
