The Eyebrow Thread, all you need to know and ask about your arches

eyebrows make a face look so different if they are groomed, shaped or not...
min are so fine and light (compared to mys kin) that i slightly fill them out. but very slightly..
i dont like eyebrow-less faces

My eyebrows are very dark so i don't have to define them with makeup. I have a tweezing obsession though. I can't stand the sight of little hairs growing back in so I carry tweezers in my purse. I think they are very important. One thing I don't like is too-thin brows. It looks bad on most people.

My eyebrows are really dark and unruly. Not so much as in thick, but the hairs stick out in weird places or sometimes they point down instead of up and out. I get them waxed sometimes but the hairs always grow back really fast and since they are dark they show up really badly. I've read somewhere that the more you pluck the hairs, the thinner they get and eventually they stop growing back. Mine seem to pop up like weeds :(

yea..they REALLY change the whole face and give it a certain look.

yep they stop growing at a ceratin poitn if you keep plucking.
so too bad if someones got LINE eyebrows and in ten years time only BUSHY eyebrows are IN
my mum had to wait forever to get FULL eyebrows back and now she hardly touches them :ninja:

I agree that a good eyebrow can make anyone look 10 times better.

I must admit though, I sometimes get lazy  . But as someone else pointed out, I just feel prettier when they are done.

My boyfriend though, has perfectly shaped/colored natural brows.... that bastard :P

Hi Girls,

Plucking hurts! How do you get over the pian threshold of plucking your brows regularly? Mine need going over but I hate plucking!

Do it as soon as you get out of the shower. Your pores are more open and hair comes out more easily. Also, be sure you are only plucking one hair at a time. Use a magnifying mirror if you have to.

that wil definitely help ;)
i always soak my face with a damp hot cloth to make my pores soft; and it usually doesnt hurt after that :innocent:

if you're in a country that sells bonjela as a lovely liquoricey jel for blisters in the mouth et cetera, use it on your eyebrows before you attack them. completely numbs the area and smells oh so delicious.

LMAO. I'm so happy that my eyebrows don't need much work. I might have to pluck a stray brow every now and then but you'll never find me glued to a mirror in order to work on my brows.

I never liked the super thin look. Mine are medium full. They aren't bushy or unibrowed and they aren't super thin either.

Someone asked how do you know what arch is right for you...

Take an eyebrow brush and brush all of your hairs upwards. Pluck out the eyebrows that are extremely long or don't go like the rest of them do. When you are through and brush your hairs back in place, your natural arch will already be there. Its easier to maintain what you have as opposed to trying to redefine your entire face.

I also believe the eyebrows can make or break a face. It's a crying shame to see a good looking guy and then spot a unibrow. :yuk:

:o :o :o I always pluck my eyebrows really thin and my best m8s are really bushy! So when she came over to mine the other day I plucked them real thin 4 her. When she got home her mum went absolutely mad and now me m8 isnt speakin 2 me! Is there anythink I can do 2 get her eyebrows back 2 the way they were before. AND QUICKLY! :o :o :o

Eyebrows takes a loong time to grow.. believe me, a loooooong time. That's what you get for trying to make everyone look like you :P

um i've seen a makeup artist fix this woman's eyebrows by subtly usig pencil to fill in some spotswhere girls went wrong. i would leave it to a proffessional cuz then you might look like u drew them i on purpose

They're easy to fix with a pencil... just use a colour that's somewhat similair to her eyebrow colour, and then use light, short strokes to fill them back in.

Eyebrow pencil can be tricky. Eyeshadow (applied with a brush) is easier to use and can look more natural.
