The Eyebrow Thread, all you need to know and ask about your arches

I recently dyed my hair and it turned out strawberry blonde even though I wanted to be just plain blonde. I decided to keep it for a bit, but I feel like my brown eyebrows look weird with it now. Do you think it is necessary to change my brow color?

i think the whole thick eyebrow craze has been good for most people because it finally allowed people to grow them out without lookin dated. i tried it but i think im going back to having medium brows, a lil bit thinner. my brows are very full, i dont need to fill in at all because its so dense there arent really bald spots or anything. also i think thinner suits my face more because my features are quite small and delicate.

chanelno5, go to someone who specializes in brows and does both. Doing just one sometimes isnt the best.

In previous experiences here, make sure and keep insisting what you want done. Whether its the natural look or whatever.

Also you may want to bring a reference of what you mean. If you mean natural bring a model picture with you. If you want a celebrities brow, then bring a picture of them.

Make sure you know what you want and again, insist that you get what you want. Brows are very personal so you dont want to be stuck with ones you dont like.

Another tip, look at the professionals brows. Say if you like them or say something thicker than yours or I dont want mine that thin.

Take your time and hopefully the results will satisfy you.:)
Thank you very much for all the advice, I really appriciate it :flower:

Layers of studio fix, beauty gloss powder n photoshop :D
I wish there was a way to translate photo shop into real life, it would make life so much easier

yes, if your face is small then thinner brows are fine :flower:

What product do you use to bleach your brows? Not completely white per say, but to this effect:

Does anyone have this problem where their eyebrows look good in real life, but in pictures they look absolutely tragic? Mine are like that. I HATE it. Why?? My eyebrows aren't photogenic?

^ mine was like that for a while. like in person i think it looks great but in pictures im like omgosh what happened?! pictures always tell a different story, every time i take pictures i know when its time to get them reshaped.

i like getting someone else to do my brows(only person i trust is my older sister) or professionally done because they can be more subjective on how they look. i see my eyebrows everyday so i cant really tell the difference day to day.

i have since lightened my black eyebrows to light brown and made them a lil bit thinner(i have small features) i think they are more photogenic now. dark eyebrows are just more high maintanence in photos because you can see everything.

i used Jolen Creme Bleach to go from black to light brown, not orange at all..whew i was so relieved. im not sure if you can get it that Dewi's color because it really depends on how your eyebrows are to begin with. i have heard about some eyebrows going orange, i think it depends on your hair DNA. good luck though!

you guys, I am losing brow hairs like CRAZY! i lose 2-4 everyday and i dont know what to do.

^Same. Well, not every day, but I used to lose like 1-2 almost every day. I haven't for months, until yesterday when I woke up and I lost 2. I'm sad. I've been taking biotin but I'm not sure if it's been helping. I think they might be falling out because my diet went to hell for the last few weeks. :/ They tend to fall out on the inner corner of my eyebrows, which isn't cool because it make the other halves of my eyebrows look thicker and just so wrong.

mine falls out all over the place but mostly in the middle.

maybe im just shedding. the hairs are not short, long actually.

gah, its making me go crazy because I have been growing out my brows for 2 years now and I dont need anymore spots to add to the collection. >:@

i get mine waxed every few weeks and i sometimes i do laser hair removal with my mom.
but i've always wondered though, what exactly are eyebrows pencils and the like supposed to do??? i naturally have fairly thick eyebrows but would they make them look thicker or just darker? what would it look like on me?

Im assuming thats you. You look pretty btw.

Toanswer you question, eyebrow pencils are like foundation for your face except its for your brows. What it does is make your brows more even by filling in sparse areas.

Its also a handy tool for overtweezers since their brows are usually uneven. What ends up happening though is that they use the pencil to create arches and shapes they dont naturally have. Brow pencils can be abused too just like foundation.

If you dont mind I want to comment on your brows. Your left brow is more fuller and im assuming the natural shape of your brow. It has a base unlike your right brow. You shaped your brow according to your base which is thinner than your left eye therefore making the whole brow thinner.

What I would suggest you do is grow out your right brow. Im assuming it probably grows slower. Anyway, just grow your base out on top and let more hair grow on the edge. Its difficult to say, but I think you need to grow out your right arch a bit too and I believer the bottom too. Im not sure though. Its hard trying to imagine making brows even.

Overall, your brows are better than most people. The right is just a little flat as opposed to your left.

Yup, that's me. I just posted a picture to get advice on what I would do if I were to fiddle with these brow pencil things.
Thanks. I haven't waxed or tweezed or anything in about a month so I'd better my right brow has grown out. I'm going to get them waxed before school so hopefully they'll match up a bit better,

^ i agree, its very very easy to look like you(whoever) 'abused' or filled in brows to much with either brow pencils or shadows. its definitely something that takes a bit of practice. they are great for bald spots but i dont like it applied all over the brow. my sister used to be very good with using brow pencils but now i think she goes overboard. i think its because she is so used to how it looks that she doesnt realize that she no longer needs it but keeps putting it all over her brows. i told her too but she wont listen to me, o well.

i really like brow gels because it looks really natural and just a little bit more defined. great if you need just a tiny bit of grooming.

i have to say i dont like 'filling in brows' since i have grown mine out and groomed them but i do loveeee the brows at Gucci! i think they did a really good job on Diana Moldovan's eyebrows! it looks very soft, not too dark and it doesnt look pasted onto her skin. perfection

Yeah to anwer the other question. Brow pencils can make your brows look more full since youre filling in the sparse area.

Brow pencils dont necessarily make you look bushier. It can actaully soften like in gucci as kissablekae pointed out. It really depends on the colour so be careful if your gunna try one.

you guys, I am losing brow hairs like CRAZY! i lose 2-4 everyday and i dont know what to do.

Spray some leave-in conditioner in your palm and apply it to your eyebrows with your fingertips. Lightly brush your eyebrows to distribute the conditioner evenly throughout.

ah, great minds think alike. I did that and it dried up like brow gel in 30-ish minutes. I slept with the castor oil it did help ive only lost one but i did get 3 bumps on one of my brow's base.

Its worth it, i guess.

I get brow bumps too when I put conditioner on! I wonder why this is? Try cream leave-in conditioners too!

well you get bumps cuz it either contains oil or it clogs the pores since you leave it on.
