The Eyebrow Thread, all you need to know and ask about your arches

Eyebrows are important too me but when I first started tweezing them (by myself!!) I tweezed them so thin and one brow was a bit shorter than the other! It was TERRIBLE!! I can't belive that nobody said anything to me, my mom, friends. Luckily one of my GUY friend noticed and started looking my brows and pointed out to me that they look really weird.

As for celebrity and model eyebrows I like Ashley Olsen's and model Lisa Cant's brows but I hate Lindsay Lohan's and Sienna Miller's.

My fave brows' shapes are of Natalia Vodianova and Filipa (the Ralph Lauren model).

I use MAC's Brow fix in Beguille, this thing sets your eyebrows in place, and inks your skin, so if you have bawld spots, this will cover it up...if you're good at it, you can even draw your brow in with the wand

I have been blessed with nice eyebrows !! so they eed little maintainece

very important to me!!! got a bit of a thing about them (constantly scared incase they go into 'grandad mode') when they get brushed outta place nd end up lookin crazy! one of my worst fears that :ninja: ;p Naturally i have big eyebrows ha, nd they'v been through many phases, overplucked, underplucked, slightly charlie chaplin haha, how i learned from my mistakes :)

I had eyebrow trauma earlier this year, i ended up with very tiny thin eyebrows due to my friend being useless at plucking them when she said she was good, i'm never trusting a non certified profesional with my eyebrows again, they've grown back now, but not fully, they used to be a little bit thicker.

Mine start off thick and then get finer at the ends, which is how i like them, i'd like them a little bit thicker.

I agree that eyebrows are VERY important, they can compeltly change your facial appearance :brows:

You know, I don't do anything at all with my eyebrows. I've had them waxed and shaped before, because I heard how it is supposed to make your whole face look better. but my face really looked exactly the same, and well they don't bother me that much so I didn't ever bother again

This girl at my job was commenting on the fact I should get my eyebrows done (mine are a la Natalia V so yep, there's lots of them, but I  them!). I was like "Get a life man", seriously, who was she to comment on the "ugliness" of my lovely brows (esp when the person making the comment has brows a la Christina Aguilera  ).

Mine aren't great, but I don't know how to fix them. They're pretty light like my hair, so they aren't a really big problem, but I wish I knew how to make them just right. There isn't much of them, though, so I don't want to pluck them away. I think I'll just leave them alone until I know what I'm doing.

mine are sparse and dark....so filling them in makes me look scary. no joke, its something from halloween.

My eyebrows are dark and quite thick (originally), but I trim them every other day or so. I got professional help the first time, I guess I was like 14 then, and it made a big difference.

A few years ago, when I was at a club, one guy came up to me and said that I had the best looking eyebrows he had ever seen, hehe. That made me really happy because I do care a lot about them even though I'm not totally satisfied with them. They have different shapes, not much but I can definitely see it.

One time when I was young and stupid (=really drunk and taking the bike home from the party) I fell with my bike and scraped my face... and half of my right eyebrow was gone for a month. NOT nice!

Yeah! A whole sisterhood of eyebrow fanatics!
I've been very self-conscious of my brows for years. I have thin and sparse brows but very dark brown hairs. To make matters worse one brow arches and one brow is straight! Aaaarggg! Whenever I mention someones brows, such as a celebrity or model, my father rolls his eyes and says that I must be the only person on the planet who notices eyebrows. I love my dad, but he is so naive!
I have tried to "fix" my brows myself, but it never works, so I'm going to bite the bullet and see a professional make-up artist in 2 weeks. She's the step daughter of a familly friend and she does the make-up for one of the local TV stations (i live in Vancouver Canada). Wish me luck!

Any other gals with lopsided brows out there?

Good luck for your brows Pacifica! And welcome to the Spot! :flower: I guess it's always better to get your brows done by someone else, because sometimes your brows need to be seen from a different perspective, since we're used to our OWN brows, we can't really recognize their flaws.

ladies whats your take on guys manicuring their eyebrows?

Depends, some men in my opinion look pretty awfull with a too feminine brow shape, but most of the time, it's OK, if it's not too obvious.

What I hate are big thick brows that are perfectly shaped on guys. That's just weird.

lol i agree with you on the nicely shaped THICK eyebrows. it think one example is the dad on the OC.

I like nice and neat eyebrows as well. When I get a chance, I go to Ziba Beauty Center in South Bay or Artesia. They do the most amazing eyebrow threading I have ever seen and the prices are out of this world. Eyebrow threading for $8.00. Unbelievable price, great results.
