The Eyebrow Thread, all you need to know and ask about your arches

i totally disagree with that whole personal preference haute kitty. your eyebrows look good but do they look natural? no...do they look good? sure. but are they the best and most suited for you?no... and i am totally sure about this. your eyebrows can potray mean, seductive, intimidating, or confident. Im sure these are the kind of auras you like to potray now and then. With natural and full eyebrows they are WAY more versatile. You can shape them around with gel. Fill in spaces to create a shape that can reflect your mood at the moment. You can still look mean, seductive, intimidating, confident and even more. You can look young, fresh, innocent, sophisticate. Natural brows are the onyl brows that will SATISFY you the most especially when you go through the hardwork of growing them out.

oh and you so plucked the top too! you can see dark skin of ingrowns on top of your brow and your base is done too. nobodys base is straight it bends down and few hair sticks out. Your eyebrows are too exact and perfect which would be good for most things but for eyebrows they look unnatural.

oh and mediocrity rules, your brows are interesting to say the least... i think you should completely grow them out. i dont care how weird looking your brow looks or that its arch is not the norm. I think that you get too impatient and get at them cuz you assume to yourself they are grown out already. If you have to ask yourself are they grown out then they ARE not. i dont care how weird you THINK your eyebrows looks and different from what you call the normal eyebrow they are meant to be that way. as long as you follow the rules when they are completely grown out which are:

-brush your brows up and cut any hairs growing faster than the bunch. be be careful of the part after the arch if you whackd them up and hairs are sticking out then yours are not fullyu grown out yet.

- make sure that your base and end are straight across from each other. you probably damaged your base too much and your end is crazy too. so grow them out.

-tilt your head up and there should be hair going up from the base to the end NOT just the base. You should still follow this if you try to create an arch. if there is no hair going up youve taken too much and your brow will have hair sticking out under the brow.

thats it. remember growing them out and looking awful is the price of whacking them. Pay or keep doing damage. You choose. Also don't try to attain a perfect brow in every angle, meaning the arch on the top and bottom are always the same. Just assure yourself that your brows were meant to be like that and that they are meant to look that way and hey you might even start a new trend on eyebrows!

p.s. nice jacket and top.

oh and i just wanted to share something. i just started using castor oil on my eyebrows a week ago. If you dont know what castor oil is, it is a very versatile oil with many purposes and one of them is growing your eyebrow faster. My experience has been great. i lost a few hair i dont know why. But it did more good than bad the existing hairs grew thicker and the light growing hairs are surfacing faster and they are getting thicker. They're like miracle bottles for your brows. I bought them at walmart at the pharmacy. you dont need perscription:P they just have it on their aisle. I spent
$4 canadian. Its labeled purpose was for constipation. Yes weird its also used for pregnancy and many other interesting things...

your welcome! I also wanted to add that my opinion on skinny brows or unnatural brows are that they are tacky. Im not a fan of eyebrows like haute kitty i think that is the cheapest way to try to look more beautiful. Natural eyebrows make people look at you more. They start to question: why do they have eyebrows like that? Is it suppose to be full like that? I mean it looks clean and nice...i think i should do that too!

I also hate it when people assume that full and natural as bushy ugly and ungroomed. theres a difference people.

Another is i think that skinny eyebrows should just die like right now. tadpole brows are disgusting too. Shaved and lined in are awful too. i think it looks desperate, harsh, and totally sabotages the full potential of beauty a person may have. It really just irks and start to wonder geez...i wonder what this peron will look with more eyebrows?

another thing how come they still havent found a way to make brows grow faster? i mean c'mon its 2006. is it too hard to find science for this little problem? maybe its so little that they keep putting it back. there i just contradicted myself:P

ok im done ranting now.

I can't believe how much you care about my eyebrows... haha that's ridiculous. I could care less what you think of them. I didn't post the picture to be judged I posted it to show MY preference. What I mean by personal preference is that some people prefer thin eyebrows and some prefer thick (or natural looking). I happen to prefer somewhere in the middle which is what I would consider mine to be. It's pretty hard to judge how my eyebrows look on me considering I have posted a tiny picture of one eye; you really have no clue what I look like. Yes I have had thinner eyebrows as well as thicker ones. I prefer how they are now. If I wanted them thicker I would grow them out or pencil them in. No I do not pluck above my eyebrows. I really don't feel the need to prove it, nor do I feel like getting in a debate over eyebrows with someone I don't know, that doesn't know me. Perhaps the picture I posted was somewhat deceiving, my eyebrows are really not that thin. I do agree with you that they aren't overly natural. But this is how I like them. And I can assure you that natural brows are not the only brows that will satisfy me... I have let them grow out in the past. Maybe this picture better represents the shape of my eyebrows.

yep its all good. you dont need to listen to me. its just my opinion. question do they look THAT good when you have no make up?

Oh hautekitty great eyebrows!! (I already told you about your eye^_^ )

Do they look perfect? Yes
Do they look natural? Who cares
Do you "over" pluck them? Who cares
Do you pluck above your eyebrow? Who cares

I  them. Why something that does look perfect is not good because it doesn't look natural? I prefer perfection over natural-whatever any day:rolleyes:.

im not gonna argue but its good people are talking about this.

The sorta ashy undertones match hair really well and the stick seals in color longer than gel. The MAC lady told me that they created these for people sick of trying to find their color with shadows and for people who dont like pencils

Finally!!! I've posted the mircale of castor oil over a year, and i explained how it makes grow faster and thicker...i also use it on my eye lashes ( yes crazy ) i take the mascara wand wash it up very well...then dip it into the castor oil and curl my eye lashes away with the oil...yes it is kind heavy...but i dont soak my eyelashes with the oil...and i tend to do it before i sleep...best time to apply castor oil on ur eyebrows or eyelashes when ur sleeping..the oil gets absorbed easily....i also use castor oil on my hair, but i mix it with cocunt oil...and if u wanna get ur hair darker...mix it with olive oil=)

yes i love natural remedy....its the best

so shoexgal, do you use the powder and then use that stick thing or can you use the stick as a stand alone? I agree on the ashy undertones comment. What I use currently (and which I like) is to use my bobby brown angled brush (quite stiff short bristles) and just take a couple of quick strokes on my brown eyeliner so that it deposits some of the color on the brush and then use the brush for color and the color matches quite well. I might head over to MAC today though

oh yeah just tip on the castor oil. use it before you go to bed. Dont put it on when your going to sleep in 3 hours not even 30mins. Also, do NOT use too much i think this is what causes the eyebrows to fall off. so just use enough. enough as in all the hair is covere and not leaking and dripping.

oh and i dont use anything on my eyebrows they are pretty low maintainance. Pluck them once in while and if its a special occasion maybe use some brow gel. They are so freaking dark. I used to bleach them a while back but I've now realised a thick natural brow suits me best :)
