The Eyebrow Thread, all you need to know and ask about your arches

My fav kind of eyebrows are the light ones, I bleach mine because they're
naturally brown, then apply light brown hair dye, bleach it a couple
of times more until they get to the desired shade - a colour few shades darker
than skin tone.
However, I this method is a bit tricky and I'm going to try out just lightening them with golden blonde hair dye or something.
I know this is not healthy to the brows, but mine are quite resistant as I once
used to shave them daily, draw them in etc. (it was a goth phase last year).

ahhh i grew out my eyebrows and they have a low arch and are beefy and very nice looking. i'm very happy.

Wow Alejandro your eyebrows are stunning ( touch wood) and you look amazing yourself:) Love the ring:)

^^
I am! I use Rogaine and seems to be working quite effectively. It sucks to be a bit unkempt but I'm sure the results will be worth it! I have thick brows and I'm just trying to re-grow part of my right brow which I butchered 2 years ago (!).

lol. yeah rogaines to expensive for me...im young so yeah...ive been growing it for 1 year now and it has been a long year but i am not still done. im a little more patient now it is coming along and small hairs are reappearing so i feel validated. another year or two. the frustrating part to really grow is the front and the top.

Ooh, I hate my brows. The arch is terrible (way too low.), and they are so light. Oh, and I have a scar above my left brow (ran into a see-saw when I was younger.....) which caues that brow to be...flatter, than the other. So my sort-of-arches are always crooked! :p

I tried to grow them out completely, and then re-pluck to get better arches, but considering it's barely noticable when I don't tweeze my brows (except from just a few inches away.), that didn't really work.

Alejandro, I'm very jealous of your eyebrows. Lovely.

egh alejandros is too girly for him...i actually like flat brows. i had a friend she had her brows done and she had naturally flat brows and she slowly took hairs starting at the end to make herself an arch and now its totally butchered. how depressing. i think flat brows are more dramatic and make you look more artsy. highbrows opens up the whole face but very few are blessed with this and many are victims of trying to achieve it. in the end, i think you have to work with what you have and try not to alter it. its like plastic surgery. sure you can do it but you'll look different and not in a good way. though if its subtle and just an enhancement of what you have naturally then youll look fresh.

p.s. i am not pro plastic surgery but im not against it either. i also do not encourage plastic surgery. it was just an example. :)

I use the genetic kind - less than $20 for more than you'll ever use (3 bottles!)

:( my brows are the one thing that mess up my look, every day. I still haven't figured out how to deal with them consistently. Pretty much disappear into my face. I'm black but my hair (brows and on my head) is not jet black.

I always have to fill them in. If I do in black they look fake because my hair is not that dark..dark grey makes me feel old.

remember your brows always have to be one shade lighter than your hair. so if you have dark but not black hair then your choices are: to either fill your brows with a colour lighter than your hair OR you can die your hair darker.

i growing mine back thicker at the moment and having a long full fringe is a god send so no one has to see them while your growing them back. one eyebrow is growing back slower than the other which is annoying:lol:

lol yeah. good for you not everyone can say that. see if you dont have the right brows you'll never find satisfaction in them and you'll feel like plucking them to "make them look better" and find satisfaction for every hair you remove. then you ended up whacking them off and then you feel all bad again.

and remember people your brow doesn't grow in two weeks so you shouldnt be pluckign every two weeks either!

I thought they should the other way around-- one shade darker than the hair; blondes, for instance, should have eyebrows a shade darker than the hair on their head.

nope its only the blondes excluded. i mean they are blonde they cant have something lighter than that it would be invisible.

I love my eyebrows! They're thick and perfectly shaped but I just need to tweeze a few stray hairs.
