The Face F/W 2021.22 : The Fashion Issue

Oh right, this magazine happened... Wonder how they're doing now lol

Terrible cover. They made Lola look like Bebe Rexha..

Wait, when this magazine comeback to life?

OG The Face remains untouchable and shaped my formative years. It’s also very much a product of its times, admittedly. This new (but not at all) The Face magazine just reeks of an unnecessary dusty, nostalgic relic in 2021, unfortunately.

The covershots literally go from passable with Lola to worst with Gandolfini in the order that it’s shown...:sigh:...

whereas I don’t really care for any of the covers the editorials are rather interesting and the fashion content is good.

Porodina is just so incredible! Each shot more stunning than the last, what a great sight. I'm hopeful that she has a long and successful career ahead of her because I will never tire of her magical aesthetic.

Last two editorials are quite nice. I don't understand the appeal of Lola Nicon and don't think I will, she is just so average to me, and here she looks like a rejected cheaper version of Daphne Groeneveld for Versace circa 2011.

I do enjoy Elizaveta and some new photographers, but I seriously hope they do change it sometimes, because Pavarotti and Porodina start to blend for me all into one, like a long, never-ending editorial. The thing with the titans is how they are able to switch concepts and adapt their style to it, but these two seem to repeat it over and over again. I think the majority of contemporary photographers should learn how to be more flexible, or otherwise they will last 2-3 years like Harley or Petra and will be chewed out for the next more exciting thing.
