The Last Movie You Saw?

Goodnight Mommy (the original). One of the few horror movies that actually horrified me! Going to watch A Tale of Two Sisters which is supposed to have some similar elements. *makes popcorn*

Tár was so good. But thank god I chose my viewing partner wisely bc I just know a few of my friends would've complained the whole time. Also some 12 year old outside the theatre called me a f@ggot which like wow? but also not wrong lol I just lived for Cate in that movie

Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. I've been a Tina Turner fan since birth, and realised I had never seen Tina as Auntie Entity last week, so thought I'd fix that this afternoon!

You know, f*ck preteens and poor parenting, you should’ve gone ‘Lydia approaches Hannah scene’ and granted him an early welcome into the world of adult cruelty: ‘it takes one to know one… everyone talks about you in school’.

And yeah! that movie is like 3 hours and when it was over I was like ‘ugh so soon!’ lol.. I kind of want to see it again.

Jumping on the Tar bandwagon here. Best movie I've seen in ages - well, since The Worst Person in the World, at least. My favorite performance from Cate.

Hopefully seeing Banshees of Inisherin and The Fabelmans within the next several days. Awards season, finally. Tempted to see Armageddon Time, too, but it looks a little preachy/self-righteous so I dunno.

finishing my Halloween horror movie spree - Friday the 13th (mercifully not long but VERY graphic violence, a bit much for even me).

Christmas With You (it's like your typical cheesy direct to tv Christmas movie but it was fun and cute and if the dialogue got too cheesy I just took off my headphones lol. The leads really make it watchable, I've missed seeing Freddie Prinze Junior in acting roles!)

Smile. I love horror movies even when they're not that good but this one was just very disappointing given the chatter around it. It Follows did it better.

She Said. It reminded me of All The Presidents Men but not as good. I liked it but it was repetitive and I didn’t love it.

^ I want to see that, but I'm not sure I want to sit in a theater with strangers for 2+ hours watching a film about sexual assault.

Went to see Aftersun which was very sad, and made me fall even more deeply in love with Paul Mescal. I forgot how young he is, though. Googled him expecting mid-to-late 30s and he's 26?! Invest in some good skincare, my guy.

Skinamarink. I have to admit I had my hands covering my face for a lot of it lol. It reminded me of feeling scared and prone walking in a dark house as a kid.

The Never Ending Story. I hadn't rewatched it in years and it freaked me out a little.

The Menu lol that cheeseburger did look really good omfg. I can totally see the idea of this film coming to fruition sitting around a table in an annoying restaurant eating gelatin cubes on a bed of foam and thinking "hmm I am not stimulated enough with this section of the poem menu, how can we make this more pretentious?" spoiler: LETS KILL SOMEONE

The Endless Summer (1966), an iconic surfing documentary. I've never been surfing in my life but it was so much fun to watch.

non-documentary: Withnail & I (1987).

It's funny to think that both movies would just not be made today, or made with heavy caveats.

I watched Requiem for a Dream for the first time. It was as disturbing as it was beautiful. I too would have made Jennifer Connelly my muse.
