The Last Movie You Saw?

Has anyone watched "Shall We Dance"? Should I spend $$$ and watch it or not? I love dance movies that show full dance sequences ... not those that are chop up to bits and pieces. Think Centerstage.

I'll stop mentioning that now.

The Third Man, after the book by Graham Greene. The film was shot by John Huston, who also made Key Largo, The Maltese Falcon, The African Queen... a bunch of my favourite films. This is also a new favourite of mine as well, it was fantastically done. Gorgeous filmmaking, very rich, with textures and music which off-set the style very well. It also had Orson Wells in it, playing one of the major characters. He did a great job and has an awfully creepy face, and I honestly had no idea that he could act as well!

Maria Full of Grace Disturbing yet beautiful movie. My body reacted physically to some of the scenes in this movie. I don't remember who directed it but it kinda reminded me of a John Sayles movie for its ability to show complex relationships between women and for having a political standpoint without hitting you over the head with it. This movie puts a human face on people that our society (the American mainstream) tends to demonize. The lead actress was nominated for a best actress oscar. She deserves it.

"I am Dina" - slightly disturbing, yet quite beautiful in its own way
