Me too, Belowen! Just an hour ago on DVD.

Why the tears? What did you think?

I just found it quite disturbing, the mentality of people who do that sort of thing

Terms of Endearment

(why do I do this to myself?)

I found it moving, but kind of depressing. And slightly too artsy in parts, which didn't really fit so well. A good movie though.

Started watching Manon of the Spring, mostly because of Emmanuelle Beart. My sister then insisted on watching, so I left. And here I am... I'll probably finish it later on my own.

A film based on school violence, not entirely on the Columbine High School massacre.

While I appreciate the depth of the situation, the film itself did nothing for me. It didn't serve to move me, educate me, or shock me in any way.

All in all, I found it painfully stereotypical and pretentious. :ninja:

I saw the Bourne Supremacy on Saturday evening - I really enjoyed it. Thrilling and interesting, not a mediocre sequel, on the same level as the first; Matt Damon is beautiful to watch.

are you serious? Thirteen is one of my favorite movies. Just the idea in today's teen culture about all the things you have to do to be 'in' I thought was so true. But ugh, they had such bad taste in clothes...the jeans with the faux fur in the sides?! blech. Either way, I thought the bad taste suited the character. Anyway I love this movie because though this might be an extreme I see these qualities all over the place throughout highschool

I just had enough from such kind of films. They are all real, but all about the same - that kids are using drugs... But I have to agree with you about their bad taste. :yuk:

i watched taking lives last night...it's with angelina jolie and ethan hawke

there are some bizarre twists to make it pretty unbelievable and i thought a couple sensational things were thrown in there to make up for some holes in the plot.

on the upside though, there was a very nicely done sex scene between jolie and hawke, but again, probably just to distract from a nothing plot

oh, and there were some pretty nice views of MOntreal in there too

Manon of the Spring. One of the most messed up, pointless movies I have ever seen. Emmanuelle Beart was indeed beautiful, but I seriously disliked the character she was playing. The girl was this awful, unfeeling, sort of blank person. The kind of woman who just stands there idiotically while people are killing themselves around you. I wanted to hit her so, so much. Oh, and there was this random, disgusting nipple piercing scene, basically totally unrelated to anything. Very typical of the entire movie itself, a lot of pointless, miserable things happening for no real reason whatsoever. Anyway, in the end, just about everyone major dies, the guy hangs himself and she goes off an marries the better looking, younger guy. Stupid, stupid, gross movie. I can't believe I sat through the entire thing. At least I can now say that I've watched an Emmanuelle Beart movie, but it so wasn't worth it. And I thought it was going to be this sweet little romantic story. Romance, my foot! I think that I'm either going to go laugh insanely or throw up now.

Watched it, loved it. Maggie Smith is incomparable.
