I actually don't find that hideous. I guess it's because it's deliberate, so I see it as more whimsical and fun. There's a weird charm to it.

I think the "gold" adornings on the Valli dress makes it even worse. Remind of something my mom would do in the early nineties... when making christmas decorations she would spray gold paint on dried branches and leaves (bless hersick:
