Every look, piece, and fiber from Burberry Prorsum F/W 2015. I do not even understand how Christopher continues to concuct even uglier collections.

I despise Ford because I find his thesis of the sexual objectification of women through the male gaze vile and reprehensible. Of course, he did some very effective design work within that philosophy, but that's also the same thing as admiring fascist art. On the other hand, the philosophy of Prada and Celine is worlds apart from that.

Strictly from a design point of view, however, that Prada collection posted here actually has a strong sense of color, and though the pieces can be seen as, yes, ugly, the control exercised with regard to the design elements is admirable. The Celine collection I find in general badly designed and indefensible. The Ford collection is just as badly designed (look at that terrible stitching and cut in the details, along with the awful color choices and fabric combinations), but the sleazy underpinnings of the Tom Ford philosophy elevate it into something out of the nine circles of inferno.
The only problem with your very eloquent reasoning for disliking the Tom Ford stuff and liking the Prada stuff it was compared to (which, in all fairness, it shouldn't have been compared because they're two radically different looks, effects and techniques) is that it's based not on unbiased fact, but on your distaste for Tom Ford's aesthetic.

It's hard to take criticisms of stitching (which I would be terribly impressed if you can in fact fairly judge from a low-res image on a computer screen) or construction seriously when you preface it all by essentially saying "I intensely dislike Tom Ford because I completely disagree with his view on style, fashion and presenting." That doesn't make it invalid. It just makes it of no use to you. That's all fine and fair, but let's not defend an opinion like colors and fabric combos with "facts" that are anything but.

Just sayin...

i don't know if that's his self-proclaimed thesis, but i've said before and elsewhere that i have often wondered if he even "likes" women, given what he wants them to wear around.:lol:

You could say the same about other designers...like prada who put women in outfits that can be seen as unflattering and ugly to the average person. It's very subjective

Nothing has been presented here as facts or unbiased, but simply an opinion supported by observations (which is the point of any argument, right?), so take it as you will. And I never said I intensely dislike Ford for those things. I intensely dislike him for the philosophy behind his clothes, which will of course never be reconciled in this lifetime. My observation that the collection is badly designed is just the cherry on top of this animosity. So, yes, I think denim is a material that is incompatible with nearly every other fabric.
