but I hear that every girl that has signed with lauder ends up hating it because not only do they look freaky in the ads... they become slaves to lauder too. They end up controlling their entire lifestyle....

yeah... l'oreal, maybelline, covergirl.... all of them pay a huge amount of money for their spokespeople. because at the end of the day, these are the brands that make the most money in general... even more than the department store brands...

exactly. if you're a lauder girl... lauder is your priority. if you have a conflict with, let's say, an upcoming shoot for a prada campaign... lauder takes the priority. they rule you...

Adriana Lima isn't a household name... she's lucky if she's even getting 1 million.... she's lucky she's even getting a cosmetics contract!

doubt it.
yeah, she's gotten great exposure from VS... no doubt. And she's probably one of the more "known" models in the world of models...(people would probably know who Adriana is before Daria, let's say) but that doesn't necessarily make her a household name. Cindy Crawford has a household name. Tyra Banks has a household name. Naomi Campbell has a household name.

Kate Moss does rimmel and every other campaign out there!
Erin Wasson does maybelline and still manages to score chanel campaigns.
Angela Lindvall did covergirl and bagged dior and chloe and chanel and salvatore ferragamo all at the same time.
caroline ribiero did revlon while doing louis vuitton at the same time...
Tasha Tilberg did covergirl, louis vuitton, jil sander and anna molinari all at the same time too...

On the contrary, if a model score a cosmetics contract, it means she's made it. It means more exposure.
