smallest of the iPod family!!!!
the 512mb one is $99, 1gb one is $149!!!!:woot::woot: its soooo cute

what do you guys think about this one?
is anyone planning to get one?

(like the minis, i believe that these can also be fashion accessories)

I saw the news yesterday, I like the shape of this one. It's more discreet and since it's even smaller than the original I-Pod, it's gonna be even easier to carry it around.

I am probably gonna buy it, it's much much more affordable than the original I-Pod (gosh 99$!!!!!!!). But now that I am looking closely at the pic one more time, there's no screen for this one?!

I would originally have love to get the original I-Pod, but it would have been a ridiculous purchase, since I don't need to have thousands of songs on me all the time, one hundred is pretty much sufficient. :flower:

No screen and it ONLY plays in the shuffle mode - you don't control what you want to hear. 512mb, that's only about 70 songs. I'm really not sure if it's worth it.

Heh,I wouldn't even upload 70 let alone 1,000....

This could be great option for those on a budget.

seems cute and fun but im not too sure if i would be into the shuffle mode 24/7......i guess u have to choose your songs with care.

Excuse my ignorance, but how is the Shuffle mode supposed to be working then ?!

Isn't there a button where you can advance to another song?!

Shuffle automatically selects the next song for you according to some algorithm that tries to approach randomness. If you don't like the song that's playing, yes you can FF to the next song, but it doesn't mean it'll be the one next to the previous one.

P.S. Actually, I have to correct myself. I just read the entire description on the Apple site, and you can actually listen to the songs in order. It's just their advertising campaign championing the shuffle mode threw me off. Sorry!

^ and its more like 100+ songs

I find it useless if you don't have a screen... my friend had a regluar ipod with a messed up screen and it was rediculous to use

Thanks for the info Faust! :woot:

I am definitely getting it!

I think its much more practical and economical than the ipod minis, it costs less than a pair of jeans... I must say I would still prefer my 20gb ipod. The itrip and italk are valuable resources to me.

You can make your own playlist from your computer, and listen to songs in that order when you are not in the shuffle mode.
When you want it to shuffle, just flip the shuffle switch.. :flower:
Having no screen will be a bit annoying.. But 512mb doesnt hold that many songs so i dont think it will be a big problem..

im sure if someone had to use a screenless ipod with 20gb (or more) of songs, it would be VERY annoying.. but true... 512mb is only 100+ songs.. i guess lack of screen in the ipod shuffle makes up for its cheap price

Hmm I'm still going to keep saving for a normal ipod.. with a screen and wheel.

looks like a home pregnancy test to me.

there's much nicer looking flash based mp3 players. i don't see the attractiveness of this ipod- and no lcd? that's strange.

I don't like it, 20GB is not enough for me (I record 25hrs of lectures per week on mine!)
