I love Diesel jeans....do you remember what episode she wore them in?

just look back through the thread -- you can see the telltale diesel stripe on two of her jeans. Of them is high waisted, with big ol' nautical buttons.. I forget about the other one. ^^

Diorling, I think the oc tries to mix both high and low fashion. They ARE trying to portray socal rather than upper east side (just my opinion) BUT come on.. summer's been carrying coach totes, and mischa chanel ones, l.a.m.b etc. I think they are more subtle in their designers choices. They're not flashy and attempting to find ultratrendy items like the paddingtons and etc. but who know, maybe you'll find one next week?

Hey Style Savy - where do you like to shop.. i've been looking for clothes similar to Marissa's character but don't want to shell out big bucks.. any hints?

My favorite store to shop in is RW & CO it's really cheap compared to any designer store. It's really cute preppy clean cut stuff but not boring at all. I really love their accessories too. I got this pink tweed trench coat with a huge collar on it and the most beautiful rose linning on it on sale for only 50$ down from 240$ about a month ago I love it!! Everything there is pretty much under 100$ except the coats. I dunno If it's a well known store I never hear anyone talk about it but it's all over Canada. I hope I was some help

HA! I completely disagree. This show is known for it's fashion. maybe in season 1 it was kinda boring but definatly not this season. Just look at that necklace posted it's so quirky nothing plain jane about that.

I have friends that work in fashion, and i have never heard this show been quoted once for being trendsetting or having that wow factor.

I just need to go out on the street here in London and i see more exciting things than this.

But, I guess we just have different opinions, when it comes to "trendy" things.

I don't think the O.C clothes look expensive at all-even if some are.I see clothes that look like theirs in WET SEAL and Charlotte Russe and these stores are totally trendy and cheap,with a very good eye to put things together,you could shop at these two stores and look like these characters from the O.C.I don't like their style,expensive or not-but I think that if someone put me to test-I could dress two people as Summer and Marrisa just shopping at these two stores.I think next time I'm at the mall I might see if I can do this using my sister.I don't care for the style anyway.
oh-and I'd throw in a little Hollister and Abercrombie.

These are high school kids and people do dress like this in Orange county, where I live. I think the show does a great job of portraying that. There are no high fashion designer labels on people left and right, that's what's beautiful about the California style, and everyone wants to capture that hot look right now.

I prefer Rachel Bilson's look as Summer and as "just" Rachel. I have heard so many complains about her style and when I name her as one my fashion icons people are "seriously?". But I think she has it, or at last I like a lot.

And btw, I watch the show only to see what she is wearing as Summer and what Adam Brody is saying

Maybe not in the fashion industry, but in highschool/college... they are seen as fashionable.
I have seen many young girls imitate the stlye that Mischa and Rachel sport on the show.

Well, I would say that season one was more like generally pleasing the crowds, a bit preppy style in my opinion. But season two; amazing!
I at least like to look the O.C. with an attitude that I might wear that and then I get inspired and try to search for similar outfits. Well, not that often, but still. I think it is important to us high school kids (yep, I'm in high school if you didn't guess that one already ) to have some idols, since that's the way to develop our personal style.
