Maybe I get too deep with things but I loved how when the show first started they always played "Into Dust" whenever they showed Marisa and in her death scene it was "Halleliuh", both beautiful and haunting songs. Marisa was always getting herself into bad situations but not because she was a bad person, she obviosly had issues. Just as it seems she's maturing and geting her act together, she dies. It's a perfect scenario for how tragic life (and death) can be.
The Jeff Buckley version was used I believe in season finale 1 or 2. It was the scene where Seth was sailing away from O.C. heading up North. Seth was upset because Ryan left O.C. Ryan left because he found out his ex was pregnant with his child. I remember that scene well, because I was like "Who is singing this sweet *** song?"bellapop said:In the begining of season 1 it was "Into Dust" by Mazzy Star. The song in final episode when Ryan is carrying her it is "Halelujah." Originally done by Leonard Cohen, more popular version is by Jeff Buckley, but in that episode it was someone else, I don't know who. I would go for the Jeff Buckley version if you want to check it out.

I also think that killing Marissa off was something they HAD to do whether they wanted to or not. It may not have been because she ASKED to leave but with her image all screwed up in the media - she could no longer transform into MARISSA - she began to remain as MISCHA even on the show.

Even the main knuckleheaded guy is so unappealing. And Seth sailing away? Didn't Pacey do that on Dawson's Creek years and years ago.
