The Official Number (N)ine Thread

the brand is so overpriced obviously... all i can afford r the t-shirts and some cheap accessoriess... but n'wayz, I LUV NUMBER(N)INE!!!

It is actually pretty great that the prices are set so high, because then only a few people are able to buy their garments, and it will be able to keep it's status.

It's not too crazy, I saw some really nice jackets going for around 80,000yen. That's pretty alright by today's standards hahah

the leather jacket i posted on first page.. goes for $2900

^ Those paper thin DH ones go for around that price and some for more
So price still reasonable

but people think itz not worth buying some garments wich r damaged

That is exactly what makes N(N) so esoteric.. because only fans can appreciate their garments.! ^_^

I like N(N) too, it's pretty popular here in Hong Kong
Here is the preview of 06 F/W collection, imo it's even nicer than the S/S

Is it also the "large" pieces, which are popular or is it only "small" pieces like t-shirts, accessories, sneakers etc.?

I'm definitely looking forward to travelling back to HK in a couple of months.. ^_^

I saw quite a few Number (N)ine stuff at Maxfield when I was in LA two months ago. I guess they should be from this S/S season. I don't remember I saw anything other than basic cotton T-shirts or sweatshirts without any design but big prints on either front or back saying "F_CK YOU", "F_CK ME", "F_CK EVERYBODY", or different combinations of limited number of words, and you bet the word "F_CK" is always included! :yuk:

Basically I just find all these clothes I saw over there very boring, passe, pointless, and of course also very offensive. I have never found the same attraction in Number (N)ine's runway collections (except this 06/07 F/W season) as in those of Jun Takahashi's Undercover. You always find beauty and elegance (although probably in an unusual way) in Jun Takahashi's Undercover, which is rarely found in Number (N)ine.

I hate the tees as well... The S/S 06 was, in general, very weird and utterly unwearable.. but there were some amazing pieces in between those weird looks..

What makes me love N(N) before any other label out there.. is their tailored pieces... and their jewelry...

small pieces...nobody buys N(N) sneakers and accessories here.
and there is only one shop that sells N(N), called Joyce. Joyce only import little N(N) stuffs...
Japanese brands are popular in Hong Kong, like Comme des Garcons, Under Cover, Yohji...and so people here loves N(N) too.

I loved Undercover's 04S/S the most, the "But Beautiful" collection. "But Beautiful II" in the next year was okay...and this year I think it really sucks...06F/W is even worse...

Somebody, please buy the NN boots on Ebay. They are not my size, but they are damn stunning!

can't find the auction.... is it the ones from the current season?

I agree. So far I haven't seen anything remotely unique or original about N(N). And honestly,Baizilla,I think esoteric is a term I wouldn't use to describe N(N). I find it all rather derivative myself. Typical clichèd punk styles.

Yeah, I can definitely see where you are coming from...^_^

When I use the term "esoteric", I'm talking about his tailored pieces... and not those horrible t-shirts

Yeah, I guess it is still a bit derivative, however he's fairly new to the industry.. maybe he just needs a couple of seasons more to find his own style..

Either way, what he does right now is quite amazing, but something like that is very relative... It is in the eye of the beholder :D
