The 'Outfit Look-Alikes' Thread

^but it's not surprising with them. they've been accused of it on more than one occasion. they suck.

^i agree. they do not innovate, they derive. i don't know how d&g became so desirable and coveted by the masses. the few vintage pieces i own by them are clumsy versions of previous innovations by other designers.

but their "SEX" necklace is not just derivative, it is an egregious ripoff.

I know..I wish I could find that shot of the white 40's-style lobster-print dress they showed, an exact replica of the one Schiaparelli did decades before..

On a different note: has anybody posted Theyskens' body-suit w/ the prints of human veins, and the one Gaultier showed in his couture line? If not, I'll try to find it in his thread.

Not the same, but it bears a certain resemblance :p

sheer dresses have been done by almost everyone, I think even Costa did them for 2004 or 2002.

they seem like vague similarities, same for metallic trench coats. I wouldn't exactly call them at rip-offs, not even look-alikes.

Nocturne, yes they look alike. ;)

Jotaefe, the coat and the colour mixture from Jil sander was firstly done by Simmons, and i think that, that, is one of the key outfits in all the Jil sander shows.
