I'm not sure who designed the original dress (the b&w pic), but it reminds me of the details in these dresses:

^^Great eye. Amazing that they can give you two totally different looks with essentially the same design.

Zuhair Murad FW 09 HC and Nina Ricci S/S 08 RTW - I think I'm beginning to sense a pattern here...:innocent:

^^I'm not sure but the Saab may have been Haute Couture which comes after RTW.

^Actually no, both of them are RTW, but Saab came later [Saab shows in Paris, Dolce & Gabbana shows in Milan].
Anyway, you can bash me in the head if you want.

TBH someone has posted here about how necklines doesnt mean copying. They are similiar in design but different fabrication and styling.

I know these are both from Spring '09,but I thought I'd post it ,sorry if it's been done before...

That's pretty much what I said just with different words. I didn't even imply or mention copying.

I still don't quite understand why people keep trying to interpret it all as one designer copying another; either by attacking, defending, or excusing themselves.
The title of the thread is Outfit look-alikes.
For two outfits to look alike, they dont need to be from different seasons. I understand that would be relevant if we were trying to point out that "X COPIED Y because..." but that's not the point.
Of course at times certain looks are suspiciously familiar, but I think it is even more relevant to post similarities from two shows of the same season that to me imply true great coincidences.
Isn't it much more interesting to see how two designers came up with the same look at the same time? what is there in that particular outfit that makes it so appropriate in the eye of two different designers for a given season?

on a side note, to me that Siriano dress reminds me more of a Marc Jacobs piece from a couple of summers ago... the ruffles, the colours... (not that i'm implying any copying... :innocent:  )
