You are speaking about the article, not about the video, yes?
Maybe the substance in the video from TheSun is just something medical?

I agree with everyone who said it is old. The absence of his neck tattoo is the biggest giveaway. It's definitely not a recent video.

Maybe I sound a bit goofy (),but The Sun is so cruel to post this video:doh:.

The VIC. tattoo on his hand is also missing. The bad thing is that some people actually believe The Sun...

Well The Sun might be right in that he is certainly no role model; but if it turns out the video is fake or old or not showing what they claim it to show (hence Hotaru's comment that it might be something medical) they really should not talk about being role models. For God's sake, millions of people read their product every day, and they spend all their time and money (yes a little shambles reference there) breaking down a recovering (?) addict. Even Perez Hilton leaves Lohan alone now post rehab, and he is cruel.

If the film is not authentic that is. Still, if it is, I still think they should consider their priorities.

This is really disappointing and sad. The vid looks convincing to me since he is wearing the same clothes and wristband from earlier that day...:(

how do you explain his weight?

the bottom line is that with press like this no one wins. why don't they just give him a break for a week or something. it is pathetic to print this stuff, to attack someone who will not try to prove they are wrong. and the sun knows for sure that pete will not press any charges cos he sure doesn't need more court visits. i truely am convinced that the vid is not from few days ago.

yeah and did you read the comments in that post? people seem to have no idea what they're talking about, it's like they think a drug addict is the same thing as a murderer, they use hateful words to talk about somebody they actually don't know and that isn't doing anything against them. seriously, this sort of thing drives me crazy, when the subject is Pete Doherty i always end up discussing with someone...

i remember the video that was posted on the sun months ago and he was singing a gorillaz song
the girl who filmed that one went to my school a few years ago
saw pete in thailand when she was holidaying with a friend
and took him back to her hotel room....
and filmed him on a video camera, not a mobile phone
and then proceeded to speak to kate moss when she rang (they were still going out at this point) on his phone
and then sold the video and got a lot of money
i thought it was AWFUL of her
profiting off another persons pain

but whatever
probably this one is old and the person who filmed it needs money suddenly and has decided to sell it and pretend its new
people do stuff like that
which in my opinion is much worse than what pete is doing
because its hurting other people

Not to go too far into illegal TFS territory but you don't think people who use
stuff that is on the black market (be in pirated DVDs or worse) are hurting other people?!?!? Come on! Do you have any ideas how these gangs operate? You don't think they are hurting the people they love. Geesh! Some really idealised opinions on this board.

Anyway old, or new, I knew what he did, but I had never SEEN it. And I am reeling a little.

Sorry, but what do you mean by this?:unsure:It was just an idea....

^^ Lmao!, I'm sorry I really don't agree with that conclusion either. I know we all love Pete but even Pete apologists shouldn't go that far.

There's a new article in the sun or daily mail I can't tell the difference sometimes, and Pete's really looking hefty hello double chin!

Other than that, I wouldn't call it an admission of guilt if they reported his rep saying 'He's been a foolish boy'; these tabs take everything out of context (now whos the apologist? hah) I'm sure the next few words were prob 'in the past'.

I swear these tabs are so ridunkulous with their stories to the point where they are almost nonsensical.

I really hope its not true though, and I would hate to see Pete just cave in after this.

Yes! I agree that it is a bit foolish and naive to try and explain the video with somewhat poor - I don't know - excuses about weight, hair colour and 'it might be water'. However, seeing that this discussion mainly involves Doherty fans it is not surprising that they want to cling to explanations of why this wouldn't be a recent video and why it wouldn't be him etc. We like him. We want him to succeed in beating his addiction. But I think we all know that there is a very good possibility that it isn't so.

*Ana*, I know what you mean. I remember after some other occasion regarding Pete hit the papers last year, and there were people who dead seriously wanted to kick him out of the country. Yes, like the did sending the criminals to Australia in the 18th and 19th century. I think the problem with addiction - and Pete - is that most people know he is one, but I don't think they realise that being a addict actually involves taking drugs. Several times a day actually. And when they see it they are shocked (!), disgusted (!) and cannot believe their eyes. They want to just ignore him like they can do with any addict on the streets, but they can't cos he is actually in the papers, on the radio and in someone's record collection. Therefore, they say ' you shouldn't celebrate drug addiction' and seem to forget that THAT is not the main reason he is celebrated. The only one celebrating his addiction, I believe, are the reporters in The Sun selling lots of papers yesterday.

Also, if that incident we don't know if happened recently is his only wrong step after rehab, then he is still doing well in recovering. Even if it is his 10th it is. That one video does not put him back to scratch.

Although I am not a fan of him,I think it´s a very disgusting action of The Sun to call Pete´s bluff by writing nasty things about him.The article wasn´t objective, you could feel the hate in it.You can find his actions very bad,but it´s disgusting to hate some unknown person, you don´t know personally, just for taking ******.Of course I don´t like what he´s doing, but there are much worse things in the world:sick:.It´s cruel and insensitive to make appeals like "Send the devil to prison".His actions are not good,of course, but what about all the murders and violence in the world?:sick:To discriminate someone for taking ****** is the same as discriminating someone who is trying to commit suicide. He´s destroying his own body, not the body of someone else, don´t forget that.

Really? Are you sure? What does the industry fuel? Dead policemen in South America, abused prostitues and d***s mules, families torn up. I don't think your bias is making you see the situation very logically.

And as for sending him to prison, this video doesn't change my view of that. I have always said they should. Inflammatory journalism is the Sun's style and nobody approves of it. But you need to look at the facts.

And Hilde, it isn't just the tabloids that glorify his behaviour. Fans do, other bands do (hello what about the freak in the others?), people in general do. Just as a *** end hanging off someone's lips seem to make them cool (don't ask me why) this behavious gets rid of certain connotations rock bands don't need. I mean nobody wants to be Belle & Sebastian do they? You don't get little chavs worshipping Jarvis Cocker do you?

And I have my own biases too. You know what made the video not only shocking but ABSURD? The fact that he looked sooooo middle class doing it. All the education in the world can't save a moron.

The d**g trade fuels much of the murder and violence in this world.
