the tailors or leather shops have a tool called an awl that will do it. my boyfriend has one - i dont even want it in the house, its so sharp!

i bought these shoes from a talbots outlet this weekend. normally, i dont like talbots (my mom dragged me to the store) but these shoes were 90% off. can't argue with that! (talbots.com)
