I hope they use "Razorblade" as a single after that. I adore that song so much
Omg that reminds me. I had a dream last night I saw The Strokes in person and they played "Razorblade" but the song had been totally changed cos Julian was embarrased about everyone comparing the chorus to Barry Manilow's "Mandy" and I was devastated. How ridiculous!

HAHAHA! Who made that connection? I love "Razorblade" too...and erm, I used to have a think for "Mandy", despite the cheesiness factor.

Just about every newspaper and magazine review I've read has mentioned the similarity (but they didn't criticize him for it because it works so well) and I heard Julian on a radio interview saying he felt like he failed with the song because of everyone comparing it to "Mandy" and that it was never meant to come out sounding like that!

hey, you lot........i kno im from england but there are loads of websites that still have tickets to the hammerstein show in NYC!!!! theyre a rip off but who cares to be honest???? just go on a search thing, type in strokes tickets.... the cheapest i saw was $85 !!!!! how much did u pay for yours pattismith???? wot was the face value????

$45 a peice...I didn't know the show sold out in 4 minutes....wow...I'm realizing how lucky I am right now.... I just wish I could have gotten hold of floor tickets...Ihave 2nd Mezzanine...does anyone know whether I would be able to sneak down into floor? I've been told it's easy before. I hope so!

Im on The Strokes mailing list and there has been absolutley no mention of an aussie show. Actually the last mail out we got stated "Dont Worry Europe, the strokes are going to be coming to you", so I emailed them back and said OK so your going to the rest of Europe BUT are you coming to Aus. No need to say I havent got a reply but the mongrels better release tour dates here soon, im itching

I heard a while back that they were coming in June. But I guess know one will know for sure until it's announced somewhere.

From stroke's e-mail list, december 23:

"MAY and JUNE, looks like the soonest we'll be able to make it back to
Europe...so we hope to see you then...
JULY and AUGUST, we have our minds set on australia and japan"

January 18

"for EUROPE/AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND/JAPAN & ASIA...
we're looking into starting up in mid-JUNE in Europe and coming into Japan by
late JULY or AUGUST Australia & New Zealand will be in August, hopefully...
