I love this book so much, it is one of my best reads. It is romantic, dramatic, sci-fi, and so funny; i recommend it to anyone and everyone.
And now it's being made into a film!!
I'm really excited but also very nervous as i don't want it to be ruined.

Which scenes do you really want to be kept in the film and
Which scenes do you think will be cut from the film?

I really hope they keep Ingrid in it, there is talk that she may be cut out altogether as she serves "no real purpose to the storyline" but i really hope they keep her.

Here's a list of the confirmed and/or rumoured cast(from imdb):

Rachel McAdams ... Clare Abshire

Eric Bana ... Henry De Tamble

Ron Livingston ... Gomez (rumored)

Brooklynn Proulx ... Young Clare

Maggie Castle ... Alicia Abshire (attached)

Hailey McCann ... Alba

Michelle Nolden ... Annette De Tamble

Philip Craig ... Philip Abshire

Jane McLean ... Charisse (attached)

is anyone else looking forward to TTTW movie??

I've been really looking forward to the movie!! unfortunately I started the book when I was on vacation and I still haven't finished it :( I'm almost done though it's getting increasingly dramatic and interesting! It's really emotionally attaching. I just adore them!

Aren't you so pleased with Rachel playing Clare? I'm not sure about Eric Bana but I can picture it well enough. And they do look like a good couple together ^_^

here's a photo during production:

Eric Bana will ruin it like he ruined The Other Boleyn Girl which is now pushed back to next year. Apparently his performance was so bad...the movie was beyond repair...shame too cause it was supposed to be an Oscar vehicle for Natalie Portman.

wow i never knew that:o

I'm not too sure about eric, i always pictured henry to be not very bulky.
i love rachel but i wish they had given her longer, redder hair.

Still, i cannot wait to see it!

I tried to edit my above post but took too long so...

here's my idea of the beginning and end of the film *POSSIBLE SPOILERS* so i've posted in white:

i have a really clear picture of how i would do the beginning and end of the film; right at the start we should see a little girl's legs running through the meadow (little red shoes and white socks) rustling the tall grasses, then it should cut to the end scene in the book, seeing it through henry's eyes, walking through a corridor, then back to the legs in the meadow, then back to the last scene in the book; round the corner of the corridor to see the back of an elderly clare sitting in a rocking chair by the window. then, as henry walks towards her, there would be a faint voice saying "Mr DeTamble will help you.." then a bit louder until the scene snaps to the present day with henry turning round to see a younger clare in the library.
And to link it up, the final scene of the movie goes back to where henry was walking towards clare in the rocking chair, and he reaches out and touches her shoulder, then the camera changes and we are not seeing it through henry's eyes anymore- we see a close face shot of the older clare smiling and just the shape of henry standing behind her.

What do you think??:ninja:

This is absolutely my favorite book in the entire world. I hope the movie does not ruin it for me.

It's one of my fav books!!!:D
I also love your idea BadHairDay, it sounds awesome.:woot:

Sigh I finished the book today! How bittersweet the ending is... BadHairDay your idea is indeed very fitting and beautiful! I imagine they should do something like that in the film. Do you think it's possible they could change the ending? Hehe I just wish ..!!

Anyway here's to seeing the film one day, I hope it lives up to all our expectations.

The casting makes me wary (except for McAdams who I feel has proven herself), but I havent seen the others in many other roles. This is going to be a huge undertaking for everyone involved- and for the sake of everyone involved, and of course fans of the book, i hope it turns out well.

Bad news: apparently neither Ingrid nor Kimy will appear in the film!! I'm gutted; Kimy, especially, was one of my fav characters. :o
And Ingrid's so important in explaining the first part of Henry's life (pre-Clare)

No way! Where did you hear that? I think it would be very bizarre without Ingrid, she's such a big part of the story!

I loved the book, except for where he takes her virginity i felt that was a bit weird, but other than that i loved it.

I just reread the entire book, and it is sooo beautiful and bittersweet and heartbreaking.

I'm definitely interested in how they're going to translate this book onto film. Can't wait! Nothing beats the chemistry between Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling though :ninja::heart:

This is one of my favourite books ever. I think the cast for the film is AWFUL, just completely RANDOM.

Kimy and Ingrid? Oh no! I think they were significant characters in the story...

can't wait to see how terrible this turns out to be...
