I think this has to do with the fact that Marta Ortega is very much known and active in the fashion circle. I don’t think her father was that much involved in the Fashion industry with a Capital F. She is friend with designers, photographers (I think she was a great friend of Peter L. ) and in a way, she understand the codes of HF as both a consumer and an insider.^^^ Frankly, no matter how exclusive/designer/elevated Zara plans to becoming with special collections and even designer collabs, I’m still not interested. Admittedly, the women’s is potentially enticing and I would understand the discerning customer would snatch up some Zara exclusive. But with the men's (which still seems to be branded for boys). that lingering stench of throwaway cheapness is still there.
Now the branding side I’m extremely impressed with. Zara seems to be the only brand/corporation out there that still remembers that an elevated, aspiration, dreammaking and worldbuiding concept executed by experienced talent is the way to sell your cheap fast-fashion rags as pure high fashion elusions. What a simple concept that only Fabien seems to be clued in on to these days.
Anyone knows who’s the stylist and photographer?
