Time era on thrifted designer purses

Over the years I've come across some older Chanel and Gucci purses. I would love to know more about them and the time era they are from.
I've found similar pieces on EBay, but would love to know more about my specific ones. Is their a website that could help me identify my purses a little more?

i think your best options would be to look for a book that discusses a brands archives (such as gucci- a house divided, gucci - the making of)

if you dont want to purchase a book, just ask your local library to purchase it for you.

It's been awhile but I used to read the Community Forum message boards on EBAY. There is one for vintage clothing and the sellers are very knowledgeable. I don't know if it's still active but it's a good place to start.
