i like that she's working more with tailored silhouettes...it kind of counteracts her usual voluminous lovliness.

the warm with the cold colour looks very good...

bright blue with a deep brown
green accent

it's sensual .. velvet (?) fur ..with leather .. then satin (?)

thanks Scott !

thanks for posting all of these scott!...

who is behind this label please?...
is it japanese...i thought that was what i remembered......

Yasuko Furuta created the brand TOGA in 1997. TOGA originates from the Greek word meaning “draped clothes”.
Graduate of Esmod Paris, Yasuko Furuta is a self-taught designer, who made a name for herself in Japan, where she worked as a freelance costume and fashion stylist.
Her first collection, presented in a showroom in 1997, caught the attention of many buyers and journalists. She held her first fashion show in 2001 during the Tokyo Fashion Week for the Autumn-Winter Collections 01-02.
Distinguished by its exclusive fabrics research and experimental volumes, the TOGA silhouette is urban, deconstructed and avant-garde.
In 2003, TOGA was awarded the Mainichi Fashion Awards for its Autumn-Winter 03-04 collection. In 2004, TOGA opened its first boutique in the Ebisu district of Tokyo.
Today, TOGA has over 30 shops all around the world. It is this commercial success that convinced Yasuko to present her 2006 Spring-Summer Collection in Paris during the Paris Women's Prêt-à-Porter Fashion Week.
For her Spring-Smmer 2006 Collection, entitled « Spiral Fantasia »,she assembles and twists, at first incompatible, elements in order to create an elegant, modern and original silhouette.

The styling/hair is kind of detracting form the clothes, but I spot some nice garments in there. Especially the hooded jacket in #23 and, as mentioned, interesting silouette. Other than that it doesn't really strike me.

thanks so much for posting, scott.

i love the color palette so much and what i can see of the tailored shapes--i just wish totem images weren't so small.

This is probably my favorite effort from her thus far...
It is so centered and cohesive...
She usually has trouble focusing her ideas
into one central collection...
But this is perfection..
I am esp. in love with the leather & suede pieces
& the sensuality of the color palette..
I love the sublime mix of futurism and nostalgia..
So well done and thoughtful, too..

I wonder what those blk., feather-esque (??) pieces are made of...?
It's all so lovely...

Thanks for your posts, Scott & Mullet!

I found some bigger images--hope it's ok to repost. :flower:
