She is the rep who stood by and let both Britney and Lindsay go off the rails. Remember the Britney interview with Matt Lauder where she made a complete fool of herself. Well Leslie ok that. Her response was "Britney's a big girl and makes her own decisions". No b*tch that's your job to protect her public image.

Leslie Sloane is a terrible terrible rep. Hopefully this Nanci Ryder knows what she's doing.

she is the publicist of more people than just Britney :flower: maybe not the best one, but definitely not a freakish one but rather one with a base full of famous clients

Katie does look better - but for some reason now she seems to be the one making a "show" out of her split and divorce in the making - it all seems like she is "pimping it out" for the media - I would have expected something like that from Tom Cruise but maybe she did and does like the spotlight herself a bit - I feel sorry for Suri though - she is just a girl and being in that media-storm will surely be extreme for her

Interesting that she fired Her publicist. She's making wholesale changes: new location to live, new people to work with, divorce... Wow.

It's obvious to me that she is going on the offensive, publicly speaking, to pre-empt whatever moves Cruise and COS might make. She is not going to let them control the story. They're both celebrities whose public image plays a great role in their career paths. She'd be dumb to lie down and let Cruise dictate the parameters of that game. This is the dude who felt he was qualified enough to give medical advice to Brooke Shields on some talk show.

I'm late to this thread but I've been following all of the TomKat news religiously (and the many names that come with it: Fly Away Holmes, Mission Impossible 3, etc). It's pretty sad and goes to show what a drastic situation it is when someone like Katie has to cut all ties of her relevancy to fame any longer (being married to Tom) because she's looking out and saving her daughter.

She's hardly Ivana Trump--she was famous in her own right before Tom, and I think she'll continue to be. Let's see what she can become now that she's escaped what must have been a horribly oppressive situation ... I'm impressed by her strength. From that W interview to this in 5 years ... it's really amazing.

Whether there's a "great actress" inside there or not, what she's doing now is more important than any Oscar-winning performance.

I hope many women who need to make a change take courage from her example.
 
^ The whole world is watching ... anyone trying intimidation tactics is just going to look like a jerk. Katie has to feel good right now ... she's done very, very well.
 
maybe she is just sick of Tom. Or one of them cheated on the other one? or they have massive differences in education ideas?
maybe it has nothing to do with COS. Or maybe she just found out she misses the christianity.

there could be so many reasons why they are separated now.
 
I feel as if it was not entirely the COS.... I think there's more to it... She's been looking frumpy for 5 years... She stated she married the man of her dreams, wouldn't that mean you would try to look Good and put a little lipstick on? At least in the very beginning of their relationship? Now this is not a criticism on her(feminist please don't jump me)but I mean it's like she didn't bother because she didn't think it would make a difference in my opinion...

I don't think Tom likes his wife to outshine him, career or fashion-wise. It's hard to remember, but Nicole Kidman always wore kitten heels when she was married to him, and actually said in one of her first post-divorce interviews (half-jokingly) that now she could wear stilettos (apparently Tom dislikes women appearing taller than him). And, while Nicole was slowly gaining a reputation as a fashionista when married to him, it wasn't until they were actually divorced that she actually made it yearly on the best dressed lists.
 
^ That reminds me, I've always loved Nicole in this interview right after her divorce. :lol: She makes a joke about wearing heels around 1:47:


Maybe dressing frumpy was Kate's way of asserting some control in a situation where she was very controlled?

^ there was actually blind item about this a few months ago. About an actress who was dressing like a frump to assert some control back into her life and piss her husband off at the same time :lol: because he like her to dress properly. The BI wasn't revealed but everyone guessed the actress was Katie Holmes.

Tom Cruise’s lawyer, Bert Fields, has released a statement according to the BBC. And his words are SHARP:
“Tactically we can't say where Tom will file a divorce case and if he'll be seeking joint custody of Suri. We are letting 'the other side' (Katie and her team), play the media until they wear everyone out and then we'll have something to say. It's not Tom's style to do this publicly. He is really sad about what's happening."
Tactically? The “other side”? Play the media? Oh someone is angry. And I’m not sure you want to present as angry right now. Right now Katie Holmes is indeed playing the media. She is the courageous mother to a vulnerable child. She appears to be putting the child before her own interests. Countering that with angry won’t be well-received.
Oh but while we’re here, you do know about Bert Fields, do you? Bert Fields has connections to Anthony Pellicano. Anthony Pellicano is currently in prison. He was the go-to private eye to the stars. Remember the wire-tapping scandal? If it’s a slow day, google it. It’s very well documented online. You’ll be reading for hours. Bert Fields allegedly engaged Pellicano’s services all the time. And Tom Cruise’s name was implicated in some of those investigations. Fields has always maintained that he knew nothing of Pellicano’s illegal activities. I’m not sure anyone actually believes him. And now he’s working with Tom on a very high profile, very contentious divorce. So all those reports about Katie being followed and having to cut off all her phones etc...

I'm not a fan of Tom Cruise, but I'm not liking Katie's posture in this divorce process!
She is definitely playing "the victim", and worst of all, she is doing it out loud in the eyes of the public, choosing to not do that privately! This is very bad IMO, there is a child in the middle and she should be more careful!

To be honest, I don't know them of course, but my assumption is that their relationship was a "contract". I never saw love between them, everything seemed very "fake" to me and I think Katie knew since the very beginning in what she was going trough, she though she could take some profit by dating/marring a huge star, so I really don't accept this "victim" role from her.
