I kind of like it…not obsessed. Not in love. But don’t dislike.

More than anything, I think the impression I’m left with is that Tom desperately needs a new stylist. I feel like all of this has the potential to look so much better with a different eye involved than Carine (I’m assuming it was her who styled again).

Carine has been relying on the same styling tricks for how many years now?
Colored tights and hoodies are definitely her and those are probably the things I hate the most about this collection. I hate them with a passion…

It’s classic, kind of eye-catching but not exceptional. I like it because it still has that Tom Ford touch…it’s still very louche, slightly vulgar.
But he really needs a new stylist. Carine only got one collection to style and she messed it up.

The menswear on the other end is still perfect, slick, desirable and for the first time, very 90’s. Those colored shirts are very late 90’s Gucci in a way but they have managed to make it look modern.

I don’t know what needs to happen for Tom to not have Carine style the shows…
She can do the campaigns but the shows are a complete NO!

The suiting is still impeccably cut, for both women and men. And at this point in this wasteland of a fashionscape, it’s more than enough to quench my thirst.

The styling is what it is, with her— unfortunately. Although the late-80s Montana pop-art palette with matching tights is decent enough from a stylist that’s seen and known better days (and past hers, frankly). Just wish the cheap sunglasses and tacky dinner jackets were omitted from the men’s looks. But I get it: need to hustle the entire brand.

I’ll take it.

I like it because it really reminded me of his Gucci days especially the menswear.

What I like about Tom that he was the only one in NY now how to balance between luxe and vulgar. A lot of designers tried and fail but Tom always knows when to stop. And that makes him a league of his own.

The men are perfect. Fashionable and expensive. I want to wear everything.

The women is not bad, but yeah the styling really drag down some looks. I hate those zipper hoodies style under suit jackets. It's really kill the sophisticated allure of the collection. And those colors sunglasses are looking cheap.

Maybe Tom can out with Carine and in with Carlyne. Or even Tonne Goodman we already seen the improvement at Max Mara.

Tonne would be good. She’s got that streamlined, American sensibility that could be a very nice balance to Tom’s current penchant for this sort of trashy luxe glam. Carine isn’t helping by pushing it further in that direction.

Tonne is great but maybe too American…No?
I like her take on Max Mara. She purified it from the styling tricks likes to put and really concentrate on the clothes and silhouettes.

I think Nickerson or McKenna can do wonders for Tom. He did great things with Katy England at his comeback even if it wasn’t received in the most glorious way.

@THD96 mentioned Carlyne…
At first I was dubitative but tbh, her work still looks modern. And she knows how to tame herself.

Those colored sunglasses remind me of a bad music video straight out of 2008…another vote for a change of stylist, McKenna or Tonne would be my personal picks.

The clothes are just ok, I like the choice of fabrics and construction but it doesn’t tell me anything new nor it moves the Tom Ford aesthetic forward. One of those rare instances in which the menswear seems more desirable.

I like the velvet too but the menswear just seems sooooo passé. I know that's his thing but it is so tired. That trash lux glam like dior_couture said. Stereotypical Hollywood I'm an important douchebag that just came into some money.

I would like to see his collaboration with Anastasia Barbieri or George Cortina.
The women collection is good but hoodies destroy impact therethrough collection looks too instagram vibe, especially with this phons in hand. Something is lacking.

Tom normally has a great eye for colours. You can tell that just by looking at his menswear collection...but with womenswear it seems he suddenly became daltonic.

In terms of design, everything is painfully basic again. And how many times can you lauch those dinner jackets, trying to expect they look like something new and interesting?

The exposed socks in menswear makes me wanna rip my eyes out.

Unfortunately with Tom, as his target market started to change, so did the designs in a rather drastic way that he probably couldn't have predicted. It does feel very Housewives of... which is honestly the only kind of people that can pull this off in a way if a full look is done.

The good thing is as others have said, it has that great balance of vulgarity because he does have an awareness of this demographic. Carine needs to go, as the styling is the main thing that is letting this collection down because there are some gorgeous (albeit expected) pieces. I would even like to see no stylist for a season, and just see what Tom makes of it. An honest rendition of what he envisions as the Tom Ford woman.

The menswear is great. Not my kind of thing but it just works as its garish and gaudy but suave. It's cut well and to the point, even if this man comes across as bit of a douchebag. At least he's a nicely dressed one.

It could be a lot better, but considering where Tom is at, it's actually kind of good. I just didn't expect shades of purple/lilac to be such a go to colour this season...

Tom, if you were feeling nostalgic about the early 2000s, then revisit your old Gucci collections instead of this trashy gay club version of Kylie Minogue.

this all looks like a really horrible Mario Testino shoot for Tatler. Reminded me how much I am not missing Testino cheesiness in magazines lol.
And Tom Ford should either retire or hit RESTART, asap.

Not the Real Housewives! Ahahaha…
You want to make me stop buying Tom Ford lol…

But I get what you are saying. There’s something not really fashionable about this collection and tbh about the brand while being totally in tunes with fashion…It’s always kind of safe, rich women and somehow a bit predictable. And in a weird way, his collections aren’t irrelevant in terms of fashion conversation: the colorful sequins of the spring show are IN thanks to collections like the Loewe one and even the color palette and the tailoring of this FW are in tune with what we saw in Milan and Paris.

I don’t know if LA is that stimulating for a designer. I liked his London collections. There was always a tension, something risky. When I think about FW 2012 which was probably his safest collection of his London period, it felt modern.

It’s hard to see his intention when it comes to womenswear tbh.
