The Cannes lighting does not agree with him at all. His skin looks very sun damaged. That being said he always looks great in everything he wears.

Hiddleston will play famous war photographer Robert Capa while Atwell will portray the equally famous first female war photographer Gerda Toro.

The story is set during their years in Paris in the mid-1930s and leads to a dramatic conclusion during the Spanish Civil War.

It will be directed by Paul Andrew Williams, the writer-director behind Song for Marion and London to Brighton.

Principal photography is set to begin in June 2013.

Production companies are Camera Entertainment BV (Netherlands), Kanzaman S.A. (Spain) and Steel Mill Pictures (UK).

It will be produced by Sim van Veen and Laurens Geels with Denise O’Dell, Mark Albela and Ken Marshall as executive producers.

Williams said: “The idea of bringing these two iconic, extraordinary characters to the big screen is one I relish.

“Not only is it a beautiful love story, but Capa and Gerda influenced each other in such a dramatic way that it changed the idea of photo journalism for ever.

“I am more than delighted to be working with Tom and Hayley. After I met with Tom his passion for this project and his commitment to the script and character was so exciting.

“Hayley is someone I have wanted to work with for a long time and after a few near misses we have finally found, what I believe to be, the best project to collaborate on.

“The chemistry between Capa and Gerda was electric and I have confidence that Tom and Hayley will repeat that chemistry on film.”

hayley atwell as gerda toro suddenly demolishes all my excitement for the film (lol not really, just a bit). and i agree^ tom and tilda do somehow look a like, it'll be weird seeing them in the film as lovers, ha!

I don't know about mistress_f, but yeah, I don't know about this project either. IMO, Hayley is not the most interesting actress in the world. Like most British actors, she's passable--their worst are usually even better than our mediocres--but I don't think she's ever stood out to me in anything except this adorable, hilarious short she was in with Ben Whishaw. Otherwise, I barely remember her in anything, even when she's supposed to be one of the mains like in Brideshead Revisited or The Duchess. But I'm going to reserve judgment, because it could be just needs the right role to shine and she's not necessarily a bad actress, not at all, IMO.

Tom does look quite dapper, as per usual, but he was just in Guinea so maybe that's the reason for his skin. I love the blue suit to pieces though.

i think hayley's first and foremost has a too lovely look to play someone like gerda taro, who was a beautiful woman but with strong features that had nothing to do with her face. but that's not even the problem (it's not like tom looks like capa either). i've only seen her in cassandra's dream (she was pretty useless there) and in capt. america, i think, and i don't see how she could play one of the strongest female figures in the history of photography. but i don't know, i might be wrong so im hoping to be surprised.
