Hmmmm, gotta disagree... Last year I watched him in Crimson Peak, High-Rise, I saw the light, and he is starring the show The Night Manager. He doesn't need this.

I'm disappointed too, I can't believe he is dating Taylor Swift but maybe he just likes her. I don't think he *needs* it.

That's one of my favorite movies with him

I didn't mention it because I watched it a couple of years ago, but he looks amazing in it, with Tilda made such a strong cinematographic couple!

As someone who is not a fan of Taylor's, it's interesting that people think that he's too good for her. He's the one benefiting from this if you look at it through a PR lens. She's the one who almost peerless in her industry, she is the one breaking records, she's the one winning awards and she's the one who's powerful enough to bring Apple to their knees. Whereas he is mostly internet famous and he himself has admitted that he only gets roles that Fassbender rejects.

If we use the Skarsgard/Bosworth analogy, isn't he Kate Bosworth in this relationship?

He is the one benefitting and that's the issue: that he would fall into Taylor's MO of curating his life & image for headlines. That he would do a cost/benefits analysis for a PR relationship. Taylor is in charge of her narrative, which is a consistent one--she has nothing to lose from this. Him, I'm not so sure. It is at odds with his sincere, earnest, rather dorky Serious Posh British Actor image. But others have gone through worse (Ben Affleck in his JLO era).

Those ankle socks and sneakers are a no, Tommy dear.

I think I phrased it poorly. It's more the idea that he is better than this, whatever this is. I view him as someone who has been incredibly PR hungry for years so this relationship is not that surprising to me.

After this ridiculous relationship and his "I Heart TS" tank top, he's officially never going to be a serious actor again in my eyes. It's a shame, he was so talented and I looked forward to him having a long career. It will just be impossible to take him seriously now.

I read a blind about him that he got into this relationship to boost his profile and that it's all intentional, a.k.a Taylor is not the one doing all the gimmick but it's a PR plan on behalf of both. Which is a shame really, I also liked him. The t-shirt part is plain embarrassing.

Ahhhh, yes, I understand now. I followed his acting work not his PR so much and yes, that's what some tell me now: that he was always thirsty . But it was more endearing back then? The earnest appeal for approval.
