I had really bad acne for a while. I went to the dermatologist and tried almost every pill and topical medication. I would always get immune to the pills within a month. I tried to go back to trying over the counter medicine, but they didn't work. My acne isn't as bad as it was a year ago, but I have a lot of scars and hyperpigmentation; which made my face look worse than it actually was. I wanted to try microdemabrasion, but I was told by my dermatologist to wait until everything clears. I also have a hard time keeping appointments because I always get last minute things that come up. So it would've been hard for me to do the treatments on a regular basis.
I had a gift card at a spa, so I decided to try a facial. I got an initial consultation with the esthetician. She recommended a purity peel from Cosmedix. She told me to buy some of the products from Cosmedix to prep my face for the peel. She told me to get 4 products - the purity clean, purity balance, clarity serum, and lightening. They were $30-45 each. I didn't really want to spend money on something that wouldn't work so I told her that I'd buy the most important two. So she told me to get the purity clean and lightening. She gave me samples of the other two. I was extremely skeptical about it at first. Within about 2 days, I noticed that the hyperpigmentation was starting to get lighter. I was really excited after noticing this. The week after, I got the peel and also purchased the other two products. I was really glad that I finally found something that worked for me. I've been using cosmedix for almost a month and I would say it's about 70% better. I've also gotten comments from my parents and boyfriend saying that my face looks a lot better. I'm going for another facial peel on friday, hopefully the other 30% will go away after that. If you're willing to spend the money, I would definately recommend Cosmedix. But I would probably see a esthetician that uses the products, to see what they recommend.
