Ugly Betty - ABC's Primetime Show

This was another lovely episode of Ugly Betty with its fair share of stylish comedy and intense drama. The second half started off a bit like with a story that would make Jerry Springer a bit happy. Dad dates nurse, sisters object. Great episode.

America Ferrera (Betty)
* I love that blue coat in quick one scene in the first segment.
* She wore this kind of ... Paired also with a red scarf with black accents, a lovely blue skirt, black stockings, and gold ankle-wrap pumps.
* Betty had another nice coat, scarf, and dress combination. All of which an interesting blend of black, white, and pink.
* The second segment saw Betty in a black and white coat, blue skirt, bright red scarf, golden yellow beanie cap, blue/indigo tights, and cute mary jane pumps.
* Say what you want about animal prints... Betty looked very well with the animal print blouse and the scarf in the second segment Looked like the blouse had lavender accents while the scarf had purple accents.
* Betty wore a lovely dress or skirt set. I love ruffles, and the detail is lovely. It has a lot of black along with... I guess either radish or turnip accents and a little tartan or plaid. It was a great dress with lots of color. In a later scene in the third segment, you can note a skinny, plastic, yellow belt she wears with the look.
* In the fourth segment leading into the commercial break, Betty had on another scarf. This look would be a fun clashing patterns outfit as she looked to wear some magenta argyle top. She has this pale pink newsboy (newsgirl?) cap. Black stockings were worn along with this look. Didn't know what kind of shoes she was wearing with the look in the fifth segment. I later found out she was wearing these okay-looking two-tone oxfords.

Ana Ortiz (Hilda)
* Nice casual outfit for Hilda. Maybe it's just me, but I don't know if red is her color. Still, it adds quite a pop of color to offest the dark denim jeans and black top.
* Hilda's a sparking beauty. She's very much a superstar sparkling with that gray dress with silver sequins and silver sandals (or pumps?) in the first segment.
* Hilda's teal tunic/dress was sweet with lovely details. Her gold earrings were alright
* The sexy off-shoulder red top is sweet on Hilda in the second segment
* In the third segment, Hilda has a very fun, feminine, green top that has a tiny amount of sparkle. Nice pair of jeans as well.
* At the end of the fifth segment, Hilda had a... not really good look, pairing this white/black/golden yellow hooded tunic with some golden yellow top underneath. The light leggings with tiny prints kind of killed it to me. The chocolate brown boots looked nice, though.

Wilhelmina
* She looked angelic in white ice skating in New York City in the first segment.
* I liked the green color of the dress in the second segment. Kind of like a kelly green color with some nice black pumps. The dress itself is absolutely beautiful. She looks fantastic on Ugly Betty with her sense of style.
* Another lovely dress worn by Wilhelmina in the third segment. It's sexy without overdoing it. Those earrings looked more like gears (like gears to a transmission or something).
* The fifth segment saw Wilhelmina in a beautiful crimson top with a crimson skirt that has gold accents.
* In the final segment, Wilhelmina had on this kind of black poncho with old gold stripes and some leggings.

Eric M. (Daniel)
* Daniel looked sharp yet again in the earlier segments.
* He had a sharp look in the fifth segment as well.

???? ???? (Claire, Daniel's mother)
* That tartan or plaid jacket was nice along with those dress slacks on her.
* In the fourth segment, Daniel's mom wore some nice high-waist trousers with some kind of chocolate brown jacket with vanilla white accents. Her shoes wers some some peep-toe pumps with dark gray socks worn. A green scarf was worn along with the look. Her earrings were pretty nice when shown in the fifth segment.
* My goodness... she looked FANTASTIC in that white one-shoulder dress. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL dress! It was fantastic! She looked GREAT.

Interesting storyline twist coming up next Thursday! It kind of looks like... Amanda could deliver birth on the show. Don't miss next Thursday's show!

If I had to vote a favorite look, it would be a toss-up between Wilhelmina's green dress or Claire's angelic white dress. Least favorite would probably be Hilda's final look.

I love amanda!! Shes SO funny!! I like her style too, really... appropriate for her charachter! :heart:

America Fererra (Betty))

Lindsay Lohan (Amanda)
* I didn't really see what she wore in the first segment.

* Amanda had a pretty hot office outfit along with those patterened stockings. She had this jacket with alternating blue and magenta stripes. Then later in the second segment, paired over them with a furry black coat.

* Amanda has a nice top with sparkly silver accents.

Lindsay Lohan does not play Amanda, it's Becki Newton. Thank you for your reviews, you keep the thread alive :flower:

I just saw the latest episode. Late :ninja:

I enjoyed watching it. Lots of good events, but I was a little shocked at Betty's father and the Nurse. Also I didn't like the story line with Claire shop lifting. In a store like that, surely they would knew who she was.. but that's still not the point to shoplift..

I missed Amanda though!

Just finished watching last weeks ep and talk about BORING.

I want more Betty/Amanda, Amanda/Marc, Betty/Amanda and Marc (and throw a little Justin in there - he needs to come to Mode more).

And seriously where is Christina. No wonder there are rumours Ashley is leaving. Once she pops the Willy spawn there is no point to her character.

New Ugly Betty tonight. Here's the description from the Dish Network info on tonight's episode:

"There's No Place Like Mode"

"Betty must cope with putting on a show for a bizarre new designer and with an assignment from YETI."

Should be an interesting one.

This one was pretty funny while also being a good share of drama and surprise. I'm going to do something a little different. I'm usually known for my little fashion reports. This time, I'm going to coin a different look on fashion in the show. I give you (inspired by being here on the Fashion Spot), my "Ugly Betty" Yay and Nay report!

--- Ugly Betty: Fashion Yay and Nay ---

Yay!

Betty (America Fererra):
* her emerald green coat, colorful vest, indigo skirt, pink tights, green pumps (1st Segment)
* the bright and color dress and outfit, orange tights, and black pumps (first shown in the 2nd segment)
* her coat (4th segment)
* her dress blouse and the matching scarf (5th segment)
* her cute lavender mary jane pumps and tights (final segment)

Hilda (Ana Ortiz):
* feminine magenta off-shoulder top and necklace + the cute jeans
* Hilda's "bad girl" jacket and the real rock-style look (5th segment)
* her tunic, leggings, and high-heel pumps. Same with the nice long necklace. (5th segment)

Christina:
* her outfit from the first segment
* her royal blue dress/tunic (2nd segment)
* her look at Fashion Week, even the peep-toe pumps (5th segment)

Amanda:
* her outfit from the second segment.
* her outfit from the third segment (mostly pairing black and blue with a white undershirt and a bright red jacket)

Wilhelmina
* her outfit in the taxi cab in the 3rd segment
* her sexy jade green jumpsuit with one shoulder and split legs (4th segment), also the earrings
* her lipstick red dress (final segment)

Jodie
* (1st segment) unbuttoned blouse, high-waist skirt with skinny belt

Daniel
* very clean suit and look (3rd segment)
* his nice suit in the 5th segment, including that royal blue tie (kind of like University of Kentucky blue)

Justin (I admit I don't talk about him much)
* his striped top with a lovely alternating stripes of blue (2nd segment)

Others:
* (5th segment and final segment) the model dresses with all of the sharpness. It's like

Nay:

Hilda:
* her duster from the 2nd or 3rd segment.

Wilhelmina:
* the jacket Wilhelmina wore with her lovely outfit (1st segment)

Indifferent/Unsure:

Betty
* her big analog watch (3rd segment). I usually prefer a digital watch because I don't want to play a guessing game as to what time it is.
* the big barbed wire hair accessory given to her in the fifth segment.

A new Ugly Betty's on the way next Thursday! So be sure to check that bad boy out next Thursday.

wow.. :ninja: how many times did they mention proenza schouler this week's episode??
it was almost annoying
seems to be bad news, trashing

The latest episode was much better than last weeks. It was so much more entertaining. Finally something about Mode and Fashion.. Wilhelmina look great in Red, and with hair extensions! and Amanda's hair looked amazing!
About time Christina had the baby too. Does anyone think Wilhelmina will use the baby to take over Mode, or now that her antics have calmed down she might not?

Yeah that labor scene is really cheesy.:lol:

btw I think that Molly actually looks worse after the makeover. She looks much better without the curly hair.

Not too much on the drama front, but SURELY a lot in the suspense department for this week's episode. Almost like I was watching "24" for a bit. Really gripping stuff.

--- "Ugly Betty" Yay and Nay ---
Okay. Here's my roundup of Yay and Nay for Ugly Betty in tonight's episode.

Yay!

Betty:
* her hot pink coat (1st segment)
* violet tights

Hilda
* steel blue off-shoulder top (1st segment)
* her bell-sleeve top with white/black/blue (3rd segment)
* her over-the-knee boots, though not into the jeans-into-boots look; perhaps tolerable since it's NYC (3rd segment)

Wilhelmina
* her sapphire blue satin robe (1st segment)
* her white dress along with the belt detail (1st segment)
* beautiful blouse or dress (2nd segment)
* her honey yellow dress (4th segment)
* her boots (towards end of 5th segment)

Amanda
* her first segemnt outfit
* her third segment outfit, also shown in the fifth segment (a better view of it)

Daniel
* his nice robe (1st or 2nd segment)

Marc (Texas' own!)
* his suit except the scarf

Connie (Y.E.T.I. instructor)
* her all-black outfit (1st segment)

Jenny
* her royal blue turtleneck, as well as the rest of her outfit (1st segment)

Justin
* his indigo sweater/coat/jacket (1st segment)

Connor
*

Others:
* the guy who flirted on Amanda briefly.

Nay!

Betty:
* the boots with the little pom pom designs (4th and 5th segment)

Wilhelmina
* the sparkly accents on her hat, and maybe just the hat itself (5th segment)

Marc:
* pairing the midnight blue coat with that white scarf (1st segment)
* the cobalt blue scarf with the white polka dots

That's all for this one. It just seems like subsequent episodes just geet even more intense. Wow... this is crazy. Next week's episode looks to be even more intense. Absolutely crazy!

I'm surprised how awesome the episode was. Is like before this was mediocre and now all of the sudden an intense episode.

Can't wait for next episode!

it really seems so fashion-forward than previously
great colour-mixing
everybody had emphasised shoulders / arms this week's episode.

ive noticed quite a bit of sonia rykiel in the more recent episodes? i quite like it :)

:woot: What a great episode. I love it, and did not want it to end. I loved the story-lines, especially the money transferring. I was so pleased when Whilhelmina did not go with Connor.. is it me or am I starting to noticing a more softer side?

she did go with him, didn't she^.. and then he assumed she wouldn't come see him, so he left earlier. :neutral:

Wilhelmina still has that villainess aura around her, but... she has opened up a bit to a soft side. But still, I'm sure she's still the "can't these idiots do anything right?" kind of person. I still am a fan of most of Wilhelmina's wardrobe. Like how I praised that jade green jumpsuit from last week's episode followed by many dresses from this week's episode. I've been praising Hilda for fun and feminine fashion, but I'm starting to levitate a bit more to Wilhelmina.

Daniel didn't really deliver style-wise. He's my favorite male character in "Ugly Betty." Still sharply dressed (even when sick), but just didn't bring anything really interesting for me to praise about from this week's episode.

The next episode of Ugly Betty seems to make a return to hilarious as opposed to the gripping episode of this week. This should be a cool episode.

Wilhemina's your favourite?^

Mine's Betty :heart:
She could wear Marni :cool:
Also Amanda is nice... It was almost something unexpected to see her this episode, she had a lot of colour, it seemed it wasn't her kind of thing but she looked good in it.
