Ugly Betty - ABC's Primetime Show

This was a pretty powerful episode. Funny as usual, but powerful. Lot of emotion and drama in this one.

--- Betty (America Ferrera) ---
* Despite a bit whimsical, Betty's first outfit looks lovely. Red tights and white patterned pumps as well as a red beret and red bowtie... nice. Probably safe to say Betty's favorite color is red.

* Her black floral top with the white skirt, blue (or indigo?) tights with wedge pumps was a wonderful out as well.

* He has as a nice patterened dress as well as a . The black and white patterened scarf looks lovely to compliment her black top underneath.

* I couldn't help but laugh at that one dream scene where Betty's much older!

* Probably fitting Betty was wearing a few light-colored items at the final part of the episode to match her happiness at the end.

It's probably safe to say that while Betty Suarez wears a lot of clashing patterns and almost whimsical outfits... they look great. There is an unusual synergy and balance to these outfits.

--- Hilda (Ana Ortiz) ---
* Looks like her black jacket and black jeans were offset by a cute magenta top.

* Another nice outfit for the sassy Hilda. Nice sweater along with her "I Heart Queens" T-shirt.

* That leather jacket of hers is a real "bad girl" kind of jacket. It kind of offsets the feminine tunic she was wearing at YETI in the encounter with (Lindsay Lohan). Didn't really like those big earrings, though. For the first-ever time, I'm going to an aspect of jeans tucked into boots as I liked the boots Hilda was wearing when Hilda and Ignacio celebrated a bit with Betty.

*

* Hilda wore another nice tunic. Maybe not as girly as the previous one, but a nice blend of gray and black with white accents. The little studded bracelet under Hilda's left elbow adds an interesting tough.

--- Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams) ---
* She wore a lovely outfit after the first commercial break. It was a black outfit with some silvery accents holding together parts of her top or outfit.

* In Florida, that was a lovely outfit for Wilhelmina with her multi-colored top and the indigo dress or top + skirt. Very playful tropical-style look. Later in the episode, I got to see her triangle earrings, which were very nice.

* I didn't get into high-waist skirts until some time recently. She sported a nice gray high-waist skirt with a silvery dress shirt. And because gold is more precious than silver, she sported some nice gold pumps to go with the outfit.

I don't usually talk about some of the male characters often, but let me break that with this bit of raves and rants.

--- Daniel Meade (Eric Mabius) ---
* After the second commercial break, he sported a lovely all-black suit. I've done all-black before, but never with a classy outfit like Daniel did.

--- Marc St. James (Michael Urie) ---
* I liked his indigo dress shirt paired with the black pants and black dress shoes. This was when Betty was proud to get into YETI while Marc was dejected and said something... a little uncomforting about why Betty was accepted to YETI.

--- Other Characters ---
* Christina(?) had on a green top with very wide, kimono-like arms with some kind of light pink pattern. I liked it. Looked cute along with her jeans.

Nice style by a lot of these characters. Now here's a programming note... the next new Ugly Betty will be the Thursday after next. No new episode next Thursday, so the Thursday after will be a new Ugly Betty. And it looks like a pretty good one.

I really enjoyed this episode. "Maleimina"
Such a great ending..

Was Wilhelmina wearing a Christian Dior Black dress?

don't remember about the looks exactly .... but loved the last betty's look and this first one coat she was wearing gives her a certain old crazy Lacroix Absolutely Fabulous touch ....
and marc gorgeous !!! what's his hair products for this curlies ??? i die .... mine are so dead !
and wilhelmina in versace (with that broche. i mean i don't know yet but i never thought such a versace vintage thingy could afford a broche. now i'm thinking about it again) and really like Hilda last ouftit as well though not sure it was really her ....

and every bows betty was wearing were great. especially that pink coat ....
i think i need a funny and gorg' and big bow now .... not first time i'm thinking about it. but i think this episode will help me ... just wonder where i'll find the one i want ... second hand shops i guess ....

oh and poor betty's nephew .... i knew it would happen ...
isn't it the first time he says he's gay ?! not sure as i didn't watch every episode of season2 .... i almost cry in front of hilda's speech .... those stupid schoolboys pricks ... hate 'em ... soo happy i didn't run into such a drama being gay at school ....

and i loved the fact everyone laughed at betty doing a fashion magazine ... that was funny nobody really support this idea ....

by the way are we only 3 people watching and discussing this show ???
odd !

I didn't get into Ugly Betty until about earlier this year or last year. It's a great show. Very funny with plenty hints of style. Comedy and drama. It's a very fun show.

BerlinRocks  I agree, we seem to be the only ones who comment on the show.

I just remembered... next Thursday is Thanksgiving! So I'm pretty sure college football will take the airwaves over "Ugly Betty" next week. I should know since I cover college football on (another message board). But still, you should watch "Ugly Betty" if you love comedy and drama with lots of fashion style.

There's more than three people watching the show and reading this thread)
I live in Russia and watch it using torrent downloading. It's cool and funny and it's all about fashion and clothes and style and so many things (at the beginning I thought it was "Devil wears Prada" serials :))) ).
In Russia there was an analog serial with a lot of drama. Our "Betty" loved her boss, he didn't want her cause she was "ugly" and so on. The screenplay sucked a lot. So, when ABC started to show the new Ugly Betty, it was WOW

Last episode was very powerful, I wanted Marc to win badly)))

I felt bad for Justin, poor kid...and I wish Amanda and Betty would have more fun together, as rommates I thought the situation with the two of them would be hilarious. They have really underused Becki this season...

Money talks. So does this episode. You know, I often wonder how I'd respond and handle issues if I were Betty dealing with Amanda. How about the Betty/Amanda scuffle? I'm starting to appreciate the dramatic aspects of Ugly Betty more. I seem to be more involved in the storyline. I usually watch for the comedy and the fashion, but I'm starting to fall more and more into the storyline as I watch these episodes of Ugly Betty.

--- America Ferrera (Betty) ---
* creative usage of blue and violet in the first scene. Her golden orange coat or duster looks lovely, and in a crazy way, kind of offsets the blue/indigo/violet/black colors. The green belt also offsets things a bit as well. Looks like she's sporting some lovely wedge pumps with her outfit.

* Betty seems to have the same similar kind of colors, only adding some light pink and wearing a golden yellow blouse. Her colorful skirt went pretty well with her outfit. I wasn't sure about pairing indigo tights with these jade green ankle booties she was wearing. I say again that Betty has a harmonious balance of colors and prints. You may not think it's harmonious right way, but you somewhat see how much these colors and patterns work when put together. It's something Betty does so well.

--- Ana Ortiz (Hilda) ---
* looking "fab" with an golden feminine top and some blue high-waist jeans. The diva-licious accessories look good on her even if they weren't authentic Prada stuff. She's one of the few that can work the high-waist skinny or slim look very well. I'm not sure what maker designs those high-waist jeans, but they're lovely on her. Sadly, I didn't get to see too much of Hilda. She's someone I really respect and honor on Ugly Betty. I was hoping for a little more of her and her fashion. I always call her a sassy and spicy character. All I've ever seen was one outfit of hers. Though I liked it, I wished I could see a little more looks put together.

--- Lindsay Lohan (Amanda) ---
* Nice dress by Amanda at the designer store (Second section).

--- Vanessa Williams (Wilhelmina) ---
* Willie's jacket was quite furry! Her dress shirt was colorful and fun. I probably would have worn a skirt with a little more exciting color than the gray dress skirt. That bronze belt was lovely to go with her dress shirt in the first scene.

* Her black outfith with the bracelet and her belt is a lovely pair job. It's a nice marriage of black and gold. Like the NFL's New Orleans Saints uniforms.

--- (Christina) ---
* This Scottish sweetheart dressed lovely in her indigo maternity tunic, that jacket, and her nice pants. I love blue, but even I can tell blue from indigo. Why do more wear indigo and not blue? Always wondered that in fashion...

--- ??? ??? (Molly) ---
* That was a lovely dress in the scene four. She changed into a red dress later in the episode. She wore some cute black peep-toe pumps to go with it. Personally, that hot red dress was lovelier than the white dress. Then she basically punked out Daniel in a kiss scene.

Next week's episode looks to be powerful as well. Trying to make it big in the big city isn't a foreign theme or concept, but this story just seems completely believable and indulgent. Great show.

^Thank you for posting John M... I fell in love with Ugly Betty again 2 weeks ago after losing interest & not watching for awhile. But I can't decide if I should stay home & watch tonight or go out for coffee

I thought this was the end of Season 3? Is there another? :woot:
I loved the latest episode. Amanda is just so funny. I liked the ending too, but how long will Amanda last? :innocent: :brows:

I like the whole Betty and Amanda relationship. It's really fun to watch.

^yes absolutely ... i think that's one of the most interesting thing in the show for some episodes now ... i just hope they will keep with that ...
i'm happy the Wilhellmina and Conors(?) etc. story is going a step ahead ... it was becoming a bit boring ... guess next episode will go faster on this ...

and for next episode, i'm waiting for something about Justin and his ex-"bf" ...

The next episode of Ugly Betty could be pretty powerful. The teaser talked about gaining everything... or possibly losing everything as far as Betty is concerned.

I love America Ferrera and Ana Ortiz in "Ugly Betty," but I also think characters like Wilhelmina and perhaps Daniel are cool characters as well. Must be tough to work for Wilhelmina, but at least she looks great as a villainess. That "dressed to kill" comment I made about Wilhelmina in the woods with a sniper rifle is probably a look I'll best remember. Crazy episode that was. I'm also starting to admit that the Scottish character Christina McKinney (Ashley Jensen) is cool as well. Reading an entry on tv.com, I learned that the character Marc St. James is one of my fellow Texans, hailing from Plano.

As I mentioned before, this week's Ugly Betty should be a good one.

Unfortunately, I think this Ugly Betty is a rerun. This will be a chance to get caught up with the story if you haven't already.

Ugly Betty episodes nowadays are mostly reruns. So get a chance to get better acquainted with the story as well as some of the styles expressed if you haven't already.

Did anyone else notice in the latest episode, when Amanda's drops her badge for her second job. Her Chanel logo was missing from her bag. In one shot it was there, and the next its not.
Did anyone else notice?

New Ugly Betty Tonight!

Tonight is a brand-new Ugly Betty (according to my Dish Network description). Unfortunately, I won't be able to see it much because I'll be following the BCS National Championship game between Florida and Oklahoma. So you won't see a detailed fashion report from me as I usually do.

Enjoy the new Ugly Betty!

I've just seen it, and it was well waiting for. I'm pleased that Daniel & Whilhelmina got what they wanted :brows:
But it was sad about Betty's dad, I hope he recovers.
I was a bit disappointed that Amanda was hardly in it.
Great ending, looking forward to next weeks.

OMG just heard during the globes red charpet that Ashley Jensen has asked to be let out of her contract.

I'm not suprised. He character is under used but still sad.
