What on earth is going on in Carey’s ed. Ridiculously ugly.

I love the Josh Shinner ed

Fantastic actress especially in her new film "Young Promising Woman" but has never produced a decent photo shoot except for her W shoots

she looks great and way more versatile photography wise on her cover(s) and editorial for Heroine magazine (so good and different that I bough my it).

main editorial is boring and what’s with that last direction? VI much?!!! DON’T!

highlight is deffo the Josh Sinner’s ed (very Harper’s Bazaar but with a special touch).

No Carine on the collections?? She is still with Bazaar? The US Bazaar september issue of this year is schedule as Icons Issue.

I really like this issue. Don't care much for celeb covers but the features etc are good and I adore the Josh Shinner shoot. Absolutely love it. I also liked the Cartier shoot, if anyone feels like posting it. Styled by Elissa Santissi and also saw on the photographer's IG that it was used in US Harpers as well. I'm generally not a fan of those cross-territory shoots though. A bit of a swizz if you tend to buy both the US and UK editions for example. And more so when it's an advertorial. I was not a fan of the Carine ones, they jarred completely with Justine's aesthetic.

LOL @the blind balls to name this “The Fashion Issue” and there’s only a solidarity standout fashion story in Josh’s, while the rest are digital fillers for a department store's junior fashion at best. The wise move would have been to extend Josh's story to a 40pg-50pg spread and leave the other ones as digital content.

You know, I’ve been pulling only strong stories from issues to compile into a single issue… and I still can’t come up with 6-7 strong ones from a year’s worth of US/UK Vogues/Bazaars. The times when every single story from an issue was gorgeous seem like only a distant dream now :sigh:

That main ed’s handwriting typos gave me the Vogue Italia trauma.

Must admit, that unlike last month's cover subject, the sight of Carey Mulligan on Bazaar's second biggest issue of the year didn't exactly make me jump for joy. Neither the newsstand or subscribers are offensive on the eye but I would've undeniably preferred more... oomph.

The "Eternal Classics" editorial is featured in many (if not all) international Harper's Bazaar editions, so this seems to be a thing, still. I wonder if this will also become a more common thing with all the different Vogue's, seeing that Condé Nast is slimming down the company and appointing regional creative directors. I dare say reprints are going to be more and more around in the future.

The world may be in turmoil, but you can always count on Harper's Bazaar UK for a romantic outdoors editorial. I'm not complaining though.
