^Funny you mention that because UK Elle has a noticeable Samsung Galaxy advert splashed across the back of its August issue. Hearst clearly took an offer they couldn't refuse.

This issue looks so out of place on the newsstand. The cover is just far too random, cold and uninviting! There are a couple of shots of Edie Campbell in the beauty section which would've made a more realistic cover. But even those somehow don't feel very Bazaar. This is by far the most depressing issue of Harper's Bazaar yet (ironically featuring an article on how to be happy)!

Wow, these shots are breathtaking! This is why I religiously buy Harper's. The shot with the budgie would've made a better cover, that's more their aesthetic. I'm in such awe with their take on the Givenchy looks.

Not entirely sure what this issue of UK Bazaar is trying to be? The editorials are visually interesting, but as someone who's presumably a section of its target audience, I wouldn't want to be part of any of those things - those strange teen fantasies of birds and flowers in the air around me. It just seems very juvenile, but dressed up as 'adult' thanks to the great production values.

Maybe I'm a crazy person but I am absolutely head-over-heals in LOVE with "The Collections". Normally such a long editorial would have two or three (at most) stand-out photos but these are all spectacular. So colorful, just slightly weird, the clothes take center stage but doesn't overwhelm the models, and each one feels unique, but as a whole they work in unison. I'm trying to think of an editorial this year that I prefer and I'm drawing a blank.

I agree with you (that's a first!), the collections edit is the highlight of this issue. I will always appreciate a magazine who conceptualise ideas around the looks and try to present something unique, as opposed to just shooting a bunch of top models against a blank backdrop. Also, I'm mad abour Erik's work.
With that said, I can understand Tigerrouge's frustration. Variety is crucial, especially in a fashion magazine. Normally the cover editorial would've served as a diversion from Erik's whimsical and artsy take. But Naty's edit looks like it was extracted from the collections one.
