As it turns out, this is also the cover for newsstands. There's no celebrity profile this month! I'm as surprised as you are..

Gosh I hate when magazines try to be so creative and they end being a gimmick of themselves. This cover looks fake and what is it? Product placement on the cover like that with a phone and with a few petals on the floor and you call this a cover?! The contrast make it look like anybody with a reflex camera and no knowledge of photography could have shot this. And the styling is just atrocious and not pretty.

This is so try-hard! Sigh! I applaud a magazine such as this not going with a celeb cover, but why not do a decent one with the used model then?! Nothing about this image, would attract me to purchase the issue! Cold & gimmicky!

I couldn't agree more with you both! There's a huge 'Sponsored by Samsung Galaxy' across the spine.. just to make the product placement even more blatant. The issue feels very low-budget. Review coming shortly..

I applaud any risks taken by a magazine these days. Let's not forget that Uk Bazaar started off the year by given us yet another Reese and Gwyneth profile. I'll take this over them any day.

Wishes do come true! Two months ago I hoped that Erik would start shooting newsstand covers, and here we have it. This looks like the special cover Erik usually does for the magazine, which one can only order via the museum. My only gripe is the product placement, but I quite like the image. That said, this will probably end up their worst selling issue for the year because it's not a celebrity.

I'm very surprised at the review though. Not one celebrity profile?

The samsung thing is v v odd.
The 4 page 'feature' on technology and fashion is basically a samsung advertorial disguised as editorial.
v v curious.

I wonder if Elle or Esquire will have anything similar?

Its odd theres no newstand cover preview within the issue where all the covers usually are too...

And no celeb at all?!?

In principle, I like it when a magazine is experimental with the cover, but on a personal level, this cover is meaningless. The colours are cold and there's absolutely no connection between the model and me, because she's too busy taking a selfie or something similarly unappealing.

Because most of the August issues are bagged with free tat (mostly nail polishes) you can't even really see what she's doing on the cover.
