UK Harper's Bazaar December 2011 : Yasmin, Helena, Cindy, Naomi Eva by Jonas Akerlund

okay here's what I have to say:-) I did admit for so many times how much I love the supers but apart from liking the film in general I have some criticism as well:

HELENA:
I think in interviews Helena looks quite bad...almost awful... I think the lighting, the angle, the hair style, everything is wrong... she should not really wear her hair like that as it covers her eyes and forehead... and all you can see are these blue eyes piercing through the fringe...which gives a weird shape to her face... not a good look at all... so I think she looks the worst in interview bits... 1/5

I, however, think Helena looks absolutely amazing in the action bits and whatever she does and says is really funny... 5/5

NAOMI:
She is cool but man? When she speaks her face is so static... no muscle is engaged... all you can see is the nodding head...it freaked me out a bit... the rest is cool... I actually think she looks amazing in this wig... 4/5

YASMIN:
100% perfect as far as I am concerned 5/5

CINDY:
Again as in the case of Naomi I think a little bit too much botox might be involved... and her lips look a bit weird... but I must say she still looks quite stunning and she has an amazing voice... 4/5

EVA:
Absolute WINNER! She has such an amazing rock star swagger when she talks... 5/5 WINNER!

P.S. re-Helena, I mean she should not wear this hairstyle when she is interviewed...

I flipped through the issue at the nail salon yesterday. And well, it's great to see these women on a cover but I feel it's such a letdown :( I think US Vogue would've done a much better job for instance... Eva and Naomi were the best actresses in the video I found as well!

There's the jewellery and make-up shoots that are a blatant copy of Vogue Paris which I find not normal.

The Daphne Guinness by Tom Ford article is kinda cool. That's all I have to say lol.

LOCZ LOVE LOVE the video! It's such a cool montage, everything is glamorous and sexy, the supermodels being rock stars, the music is excellent and the whole Harper's Bazaar shoot involved into the video too is really cool.

wonderful editorials damn! lol I mean all the pics are very glamorous, the girls look beautiful and after seeing the video, I enjoy the covershoot even more. UK's Harper's is wayyyyyy better than the US version.

Has anyone seen the Limited Edition Duran Duran cover about yet? Just wondering, would be good to see it in higher quality.

The cover looks like such a waste. They've managed to make these amazing women look so common?

Wow Daria Pleggenkuhle has two eds in this issue, good for her.

I don't mind the cover- the thing is, whenever you use the "supers" these says the point hardly is to create cutting-edge high fashion, rather than envoke some sort of nostalgia to an era where modelling tended to be about being more classically "pretty" than "interesting". So of course it's going to look "dated". Not saying the cover is amazing, but who honestly expected it to be?

What bothers me more are the shots with them playing instruments. It's always a silly to have people who have no "rock credibility" stand there statically holding instruments, pretending to play to, let alone forty-something supermodels of the past. It's all very Robert Palmer "Addicted to love".

,,, an era where modelling tended to be about being more classically "pretty" than "interesting".
I don't necessarily agree with this... I think the difference was that it used to be 'beautiful' - I am intentionally not using the word 'pretty’ and there were a lot of interesting editorials too... I think it was a perfect mix... anything classically beautiful is rejected nowadays... which is a big shame... no one wants to bother with creating something interesting with classic beauties... of course it is easier with a weird looking boy or a girl... even if you don't do anything you will have to say it is interesting because you would not dare call it ugly or weird in the times of crazy political correctness.. or even easier with washed out faces as you can paint anything on them...

Here's a better version of the Duran Duran cover:

I agree that they look bored and in my mind, Naomi ruins it by even being there

Why? It wouldn't be a Supers cover without her.

Actually I really would've liked to have seen the "fab five"-Linda, Christy, Naomi, Cindy and Tatjana. I know there were others, but to me they were always THE SUPERMODELS:blush:
