UK Vogue August 2009 : Sasha Pivovarova by Patrick Demarchelier

it's a shame Milan and London's eds are studio shots. Boriiiiiiiiiing.
I mean the editorials aren't bad but if you shoot four differents eds that are supposed to show four different cities' asthetics, do it outside !
Paris is the best edi.
The other ones could have been so much better.

Sasha reminds of Estella Warren on the cover, I think she looks pretty here !

I love Anna de Rijks ed as well. She looks really good.

Does anyone know where I can view & print some of those Audrey Tautou scans... can someone send them to me privately maybe? The reason I ask is the magazine isnt available here yet & Im getting my hair cut tomorrow. Im not sure if I can print the ones in the album thing that were posted... or can I? Thanks.

Its crazy because I looked for photos of her for months for this haircut & now the day before theres some but I cant buy the magazine... what dumb luck I have lol.

the styling in the "more dash than cash" editorial is great

i like all the eds, the idea's really creative, and i love how the background really reflects the cities quite well .

Well, not really. US Bazaar used to split the editorials by the cities. But Vogue UK executed the idea much better because they actually did it in the cities, except for London and Milan. I still wish all of the editorials were in their respective cities. Milan would've been amazing... B)

If you click on the thumb nails posted, they should open up the larger image. Right click on this and go "Save image as", and then it is saved to your computer so you can print it from there. Hope this works :flower:

What an incredibly rude thing to say about Patrick Demarchelier who is a brilliant photographer & has taken many images that are pieces of fashion history. Like him or not... he deserves to be respected.

His WORK deserves recognition and respect, and if someone thinks his work is in decline then they are entitled to that opinion. Many people think that it's best to quit while you are ahead. However, I wouldn't discount the man so flippantly either. Some artists create their best work near the end of their lives/careers.

Yeah I agree, with a such perfect cast, they could've done better ! It's really disappointing, when I saw the review, I was thinking about wondeful eds, I mean, something less boring than studio shots... The only ed which is really gorgeous is Lily's one

Paris ed: Model - Lily Donaldson, photographer: Patrick Demarchelier, fashion ed: Kate Phelan
Lovely
I don't even complain because of b&w, it looks great and suits ed very well. I just can't believe that it's fall again. I want longer summer time.

the milan, london and especially paris eds are amazing!!!!! I'm in love with this issue!!! I will be getting a copy for sure! LILY IS GORGEOUS IN PARIS!!! and the audrey tatou pics are beautiful

i thought the whole concept of the cities is quite unimaginative, as it doesn't explore the theme of the city, its vibe, its aesthetic, its mystery, but showcases the highlights of runway shows from four major fashion capitals. that way the styling of these edits isn't really challenging in any way (total looks completed with some eccentric this-and-thats[\i]?).
as much as i love Lucinda Chambers' stylistic talents this issue doesn't do much justice to her skills and imagination. and i am sorry, but two indoor studio edits for Mr. Demarchelier? he isn't really the king of studio sittings to me (as long as the styling doesn't take center place in the edit which is obviously not the case here).
that said, the issue is nice and must be a good preparation for September. but frankly, it doesn't get better than a collections review, which isn't quite what you expect from Vogue.
