Ulyana Sergeenko Haute Couture F/W 14.15 Paris

To be honest, I wish all Russian oligarch vanity projects looked this good.

I love it!! Beautiful and full of life!! I wish she became a staple at couture shows!!!

Um, I'm not sure, there's some really tacky pieces in this collection. I like the suprematist and soviet inspired outfits but there's this overwhelming feeling of an amateurish whim of "having a couture show" here that takes over and doesn't make it that appealing.

The whole collection doesn't really have a direction, leather? Pretty Russian-princess dresses? All the sl*tty high heels? All in one show...

Ulyana has a lot more to learn in terms of design and direction as she is still at the beginning of her journey - but as someone before me noted, it is once again a very good attempt at couture for a Russian socialite.

I believe a lot more can be improved in the actual construction of the clothes as some of the edges feel a bit off and there is a weird mix of fabrics, but overall it's a nice collection of pieces that represent her style. As per the strongest point is the outerwear, and since Russian women are her primary clientele, I guess that's all that matters at the end of the day.

I like it a lot there are many good elements, I don't mind whether it reminds some other designers but she twisted in her own.

I literally thought this was Dior...... this is how Dior should be. Regardless, this is beautiful.

After seeing the collection in motion, I love it even more, beautiful pieces, looking forward to seeing more from her

The pieces photograph much better than they look in motion, she has some good ideas and has the potential to keep on flourishing. It wasn't a very cohesive collection but you can still tell it's her work. She could do with some fabric work lessons or better yet have a well seasoned designer advice her or co-design with her. I hated that some of the models were just dragging the feather boas and those clunky fugly shoes but I loved the black coat fur coat towards the end as well as the blue look afterwards.

Given the fact that her show is not in the official schedule nor is she a member of the Federation, Ulyana belted out a commendable collection season after season. We often hear how people whine the industry is saturated and monopolised by the conglomerates and is in dire need of a rebellion and I perceived her as part of the movement.

Granted she is part of the high society in Moscow and has all the financial resources she needs to be where she is today. But it was not an easy task to pull out a respectable show in Paris during the HC week with all the reputable front-row'ers' in attendance. I don't think it is wrong to say that Ulyana is perhaps the 'Victoria Beckham of Haute Couture'. Often misconstrued, they both has the right taste and vision of where their brand direction should head to and execute this very elegantly regardless of where they came from, their background or lack thereof.
