Undercover F/W 06.07 Paris

I'm loving this, every look has something appealing to me and the creepy setting, I think, adds to the looks. There are so many beautiful pieces, and wearable, pieces. Stunning collection.

yeah....what Susie said...

....I love the imagery of this....and some of the pieces really are quite beautiful (masks and all:ninja:) it has a very apocolypse feeling to it....something kind of reminds me of Star Wars as well, I dunno.

.....I have the high bid on a set of skeleton keys to knock of the necklace:innocent:

This work is reminding me strongly of Gaultier's early work with a whisper of Margiela thrown in.
The quality of some older pieces struck me as good. Perhaps it was only a particular item or group done by a certain factory at the last moment. These things happen and shouldn't be enough to dissuade people from buying or at least looking at this very creative designer's work.

alluring collection, very eerie feel. medieval ambience too, like imprisonment

the masks, maybe a strike to the supermodel hehe :P

i love the deconstructed feel to it though

hmm... eerily cool...i seem to like the clothes... and to an extent the masks..but i think a whole masked collection doesent do it for me.. but maybe that was his statement.. to draw attention from the person to the clotes? im trying to decipher his statement. hmmm interesting statement faust...because i remember Balkanyc talking about taka's quality workmanship... or is that only with respect to n(n)??

overall quite an interesting collection.. museum worthy.

actually i really like this. looks like there are some really great pieces in there

It's disappointing to hear that the quality is poor. because I think the work itself is wildly imaginative, and I appreciate that so much. I think there are a few silhouettes also that feel really fresh and different to me. This is a very sculptural collection.

Maybe some of the fabrics look chip or whatever, but Japanese designers have the habit to "destroy" fabrics, make them look rough, destroyed or even like bad quality.
Concerning REI KAWAKUBO she is the absolut perfectionist!

Having been closely following Japanese and Belgian fashion for about eight years and examining it in person for as many, I am very well aware of destroying the fabrics, etc. - this is not it. This is just cheap crap. I was so looking forward to seeing S/S 06 Undercover in stores after being impressed with it on the runway, and it looks absolutely different and cheap (and super overpriced).

i agree with you 100% susie - i love the eerieness of it. i vehemently DO NOT like the facial coverings though - i find them ridiculous and a bit pretentious. i think they go well with the mood of this show, but it certainly doesn't have to be that way - the styling would also work without the faces covered.

thanks everyone for the pictures!

no prob :flower:

i really liked the spirit of the collection, it sort of reminds me of the inquisition for some reason. sorry if someone has seen that resemblence and i just sound repetitive. :p

A little bit harsh to say that this will be atrocious in terms of quality..

Jun has been very consistent in bringing high quality garments, until ss06...

fw04, ss05 & fw05 have all been incredibly stunning quality wise... so unless the awful quality is being unchanging throughout some collections, it is very hard to say whether it will be atrocious, based merely on one collection..

I don't know, maybe we are looking at different undercovers? :p
